What would be the best place for a larger group to have dinner together at MK? Could be character or not..doesn't matter. Really just looking for nice environement, good food. Also, how about at MGM?

Expanding on this question. We have 12 going in December. Will most sit-down places accomodate 12 people. We plan to separate during the day and then meet up for dinner in the evening.

Can someone post their favorite big-group places?:lovestruc

Interested is everyone's thoughts on this, too, as we will have 17 in our Grand Gathering. On our tentative list so far is 'Ohana, Teppan Edo & Le Cellier for dinners and Crystal Palace for breakfast.

We always have 20+ for dinner prior to the Very Merry Party and go to Crystal Palace. Because of the party's size, we always have to eat early (3:45 or so) but have always been able to sit at 2-4 tables, depending on size of table, right next to each other.

One year we did Liberty Tree Tavern - same setup.

We are a grand gathering and our party size starts at 9 for the first night and 2 days later becomes 17 (family arriving on different days). Anyway, we have ressies The following:

Cape May Cafe- dinner
O'Hana's - dinner
Hollywood & Vine - dinner
Whispering Canyon Cafe - dinner
Chef Mickey's - dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern - dinner
Crystal Palace - dinner

* I chose all dinners because I figured it was easier than trying to get 17 people out early in the morning for breakfast. We have done Grand Gatherings before but, this is our largest.

I prefer not to go to a buffet because then it seems everyone is not really eating together since everyone's constantly getting up to get their food. I'm hoping to have somewhere that we can all sit at one big table together. Its really not that many people...7 adults and 4 kids.
How would the Brown Derby or Mama Melrose at mgm be? How about Tony's town square at Magic Kingdom?

I would choose Liberty Tree Tavern (served family style at your table) over any of those. I believe LTT can seat a party of 11 at one table, but haven't been there in awhile :confused3

Or how about Ohana?

How's the food at Liberty Tree? The menu didn't really get me too excited, but.........i'm willing to give it a shot if a lot of people say it's great. What's not so good about Tony's?

Liberty Tree had great character interaction but our food was not very good. But my family is used to my home cooked meals.

Our Grand Gathering in June will be eating at Biergarten and Crystal Palace so far.

Have you looked into any of the Grand Gathering events, caroline? One of them is a "special" breakfast at Tony's for GG (parties of 8 or more)
