I've been asked to get some help/advice on booking a large group (26) for dinner in mid-July. The group will be staying at Bonnet Creek and was thinking about eating at Downtown Disney, possibly Raglan Road, House of Blues or Bongos.

First, yay or nay on these restaurants? I haven't eaten at any of them.

Second, any suggestions for something else in the same price range? They want to stay out of the parks and want the commute from Bonnet Creek to be relatively painless.

Reviews from people who have booked similar sized parties would be very helpful!

Thanks in advance.

July as in next month? I don't know what your chances are of finding anything at this point. You may want to start calling around and see who can seat your group.

About your only possibility is call the Main Switchboard at 407-824-2222 and ask for Group Sales - Catering. They may be able to set something up for you, but it would be in a banquet room at a Resort or a special location in a Park. It will probably run more than $50 per person.

If you were looking for a date six months out, something could be managed at a restaurant opening time. To get something at regular dining next month chances are below 0.01%.

Yes, July as in next month.

Thanks for the honest feedback. It's a group of convention-goers. I am not part of the group, but was asked to help out (yesterday).

However, let's expect a miracle. What do you all think of those restaurants?

I think you'll have better luck in places that offer outdoor seating. With it being hot in July the outdoor areas may have more availability.

We really like Raglan Rd. I've done it with a party of 12 before and they were very accomodating. They have a rather large outdoor seating area. I would call the restaurant directly instead of going through Disney Dining reservations. If you're interested in the entertainment you can head inside after dinner and enjoy the bar area.

I've also eaten at Paradiso on Pleasure Island and thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. They serve lots of entrees that are more like appetizers and are great for sharing with large groups. They also have an outdoor seating area.

I did not care for Bongos, but that was few years ago.

Again, with any of these choices, I would call the restaurant directly. Since they're not owned by Disney that shouldn't be an issue.

I'd call Raglan Road directly. They have space for private parties and might have an opening. Couldn't hurt to call and check. We LOVE this restaurant.

Thanks for the suggestion of Paradiso. I've passed that and the reviews for Raglan Road along.

I love the house of blues. The catfish platter is die for.
