I want a CLOSE drive to WDW

we have 9 people....3 adults,2-12yog's,9-yog,7yob,5yog,4yog
We will be driving-all in one car I imagine. The first week of June 2007

I am reluctant to stay offsite as Ive always stayed onsite before, but with such a large family plus father in law and his dd it seems like if it would be the difference between $1800 on site and $1k off site then it may be worth it.
Im afraid of trusting what an owner says is the distance to WDW....plus the parking...oh, its just so much to think about!

I understand

here is a map of the area.

the homes located close to the AKL on US 192 - have a back way to get to AK that will save you time.

but first tell us which house you will get

now if you really want to save money you might consider a 2-bedroom condo at a skyauction - the problem is you would need 2-bedroom plus a 1-bedroom. You would be taking a chance with skyauction.

2-bedroom have a limit of 6 to 10 people per villa - depending upon the resort.

good luck!

remember the gay weekends will be happen the first weekend in June. Now some of my best friends are gays - but the language not to mention what they do to each other is not something - you might not like your kids to see.

sorry to be so blunt.

forgot - Emerald Island and Windsor hills get pretty good reviews. go look on the review board for more suggestions.

oooohhhhh, yeah, um we're not good with gay weekend.
I was thinking it would be october since that is some kind of gay pride month or something.
Shoot...so that would be the weekend of the 1st and 2nd or the weeknd of the 8th and 9th? I was thinking of getting to the area on the 2nd but not going to the parks until the 3rd.

Gay Days are May 29 - June 4th 2007. You can always zig while others zag. In other words, when the schedule comes out, make sure you do not go to the places where Gay Days are planning to go that day. We had guests in this year during gay days, and they planned around the gay days agenda. No problems at all.

I've rented Cypress Pointe through Hotel Kingdom. Both the Resort and the Grand Villas share the same common facilities, but the units are slightly different. Here is HK's website: http://www.hotelkingdom.com/HotelSe...d=273&htlname=cypress pointe&sort=hk&offset=0

The location is about 2 traffic lights up from the entrance gate nearest to Downtown Disney, so not far at all. There are quite a few restaurants around, plus a grocery store and pharmacy within walking distance. You would still need a car, and would have to pay for parking at the parks.

cypress pointe is nice, but you'd still need 2 units there. It seems like you'd want at least 5 bedrooms and several bathrooms. Personally, I wouldn't want anyone to have to sleep in the living room. It's much better for everyone to have their own space.

I think you'll be fine the first week of June, especially if you do as suggested here.

We found Windsor Palms to be convenient, and we often went back for a late afternoon break. Any of the communities in that area should work for you.

Good luck with your search!
