Has anyone here spent any time in Laredo, TX? Anything specific we might want to know about crime, good/bad places to live? DS just got interviewed by a company from there (they make scented candles-I want samples!) and now he's been invited for a second interview and to talk "salary, benefits, etc." I know a little of the climate and also, that it's a border town (as we are). But can anyone give me any specific info? Thanks!

Sorry, can't really help. I went for a Saturday day trip a week ago. It seemed like a pretty nice area, with a decent shopping mall. Nuevo Laredo was much nicer than Juarez and Tijuana, I haven't been to Harlingen, so I can't compare. You might want to call the Chamber of Commerce or travel/convention bureau to see if they'd send you some sort of info packet. We got a nice booklet about the two cities at a state sponsored Welcome Area along the Freeway about 20 miles North of Laredo.

Just bumping this back to page 1 for you.

I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley (Sharyland High School) and made numerous trips to Laredo but that was many years ago. I imagine that Laredo can not be too different from the rest of the valley.

Good luck.
