Help me settle an argument



Will I be able to bring my Laptop on the plan when we travel at the end of this week. My DGF assures me that laptops were added to the "Do not fly list" after the last "scare"

According to the TSA website, laptop computers are still allowed as either carry-on or checked luggage.

Only liquids, gels, et cetera were added to the 'banned list' after the last scare.

You can check for changes to the list at the official website: www.tsa.gov

I flew a week or so after the new restrictions. Took my lap top and had no problems on my flights on 8/18, 8/21, 8/25 & 8/31. When you go through security, you will need to take it out of the case and put it in a bin to go through the scanner.

You win! Deifinitely OK to bring the laptop as a carryon. We did this when we flew in August 3 days after the "scare".

Your DGF is half right, they did ban them on British flights and flights going to England.
If she still needs proof that you are correct, TSA.gov is the place to go for banned and allowed items.
Your laptop is, and always has been, ok to fly in your carry on.

On some foreign airlines, batteries must be remvoved form certain brands of laptops during the flight. If you are flying in the US, this is currently not an issue. -- Suzanne
