Laptop users...safe to leave laptop in room?

last july i left my brand new laptop sitting on top of the table in our room at the WL with our extra camera and bags. nothing was ever moved. in fact Mousekeeping i think made it a point not to even try to clean the table so it would not seem if anything had been touched. on our next trip i will do the same thing. just leave it out on the table and really not worry about it

This is great to know as we'll be staying at the WL in October and will have to work about an hour a day with the laptop (sure you can go on vacation, just make sure your work is DONE every day!) :rotfl:

My DS wants to bring his with him when we go next year. I wasn't too happy about it - we paid a lot of $$ for it, but his point is that if it safe in his dorm at college, it's safe anywhere! He may have a good point. However, he also has one of those cable locks, and locks it up religiously no matter where he goes with it (except when he comes home of course, but with the way his younger brother eyes it, he should probably lock it up at home too! :rotfl: ). So, I guess I'll feel comfortable as long as it has the cable lock on it. Even if mousekeeping is honest, you never know if they have to leave the room for a second, and who may walk by during that time.

I must be one of those people with nototriously bad luck or something judging from this thread. Heck, my family had CLOTHES stolen from our room at the GF before, and the clothes had been in the drawers! LOL That being said I would NEVER, in a 100,000 million years leave a labtop out. Get a suitcase lock, it's a lot cheaper than a laptop specific lock, and empty your suitcase clothes (use the drawers and hangers) and put your labtop into the suitcase. Put the suitcase on the side of the far bed. Chances are if mousekeeping was going to steal anythign something liek that would prove to be too much of a bother. Either that or stick it UNDER the bed. Have a blast!

Thanks for the great tips!

My 14" iBook sounds like it WILL fit in the safe, or the idea to lock it in a suitcase works too!!!
