Laptop advice.

DH has agreed to buy me a laptop for my Birthday. So I was wondering if anyone had any advice on any good ones to buy or not to buy? Or which shops/web pages give the best deals, advice etc.

I've never been with Dell but I hear they are great. Custom built; brillient.

I'm with HP. Relativity Cheap, and we were good for a couple of years. Although, the plug did fail on my sisters and which meant that the whole thing came out when she pulled it!! So remember cheap isn't always best..

I dont know much about the technical side of things but I have a mac book and it is great and it looks cool too oops that was a bit of a girlie thing to say

I'm finally going to get a laptop at work - we use nothing but DELL laptops and desktops for the offices and we re-sell DELL workstations and servers as part of our systems

Thanks everyone I'm going to have a look in PC world tomorrow. It will be so great to be able to DIS without 2 horrible DD's wanting to play clubpenguin and pushing me off. Although DH thinks it will be great to be able to bet whilst watching the TV but I've already told him it will be mine all mine.

I for one have never purchased my own laptop but from other peoples experiances and family it seems that Dell offer the best prices and best performance, PC World would not be my first choice but sometimes they may have a special offer on what are pretty snazzy.

If I was to purchase one I would seriously considering going for a Mac Book
