Lanyards

I don't know if this is the correct place to be asking but I would like to get some lanyards with plastic holders on them to keep our room keys in. Does anyone know where I might be able to buy them. Also, do you know if CM's frown if you punch a hole in your room key to attach them to your lanyard?

Walmart has them. I just purchased a horizontal & vertical one. I found them in the section with the small cheap wallets. They were .97 cents and have zip closure (like the zip lock bags). You can put your room card in there so theirs no need to punch a hole in it.

I also got mine at WalMart for .97 cents. I got the horizontal one...they were near Jewelry where the wallets are.

The ones from Wal-Mart are great. I've had mine 3 years and they're really holding up well.

Oh, looks like a good reason to go to Walmart. Regarding the hole, if you still want to do it, I would think as long as the hole wasn't in the magnetic strip, it shouldn't matter but I would check with a CM before doing it just in case. (I know the casino cards all have holes in them and work fine).

At disney, they also use to sell fastpass holders. This also has the plastic zip holder and should hold a room key as well. I purchased one from this sight and forgot that I had it until I found it in my closet yesterday. It's really cute and has a retractible cord type and a castle on the mickey head clip.

I like the ones from Wal Mart, because they have that little pocket on the outside that's perfect for fastpasses (plus they're cheap at .97). Last year I put my room key, AP, DDE card, a credit card, a wallet size laminated copy of my ADRs, and a few dollars in it. Be careful not to over stuff them though, because I broke one a few years ago.

I used the hole punch method on DCL and everything was fine. Just make sure not to puch near the magnetic strip. I would also check with a CM first just to make sure nothing has changed, because we did this in 2003. Since I have more to carry for WDW, I will probably get one of the pouches that you are talking about at Wal-Mart.

Dollar Tree has retractable ones with a belt clip. Attach it to a belt or pocket, it's less burdensome than around the neck.

The HR lady at my work gave me mine. If you work at a place that requires ID be worn all day, you may want to check with your HR Dept.

I use the Disney DVC member day holders but have the WalMart ones for DSs. They sell them in the hunting and fishing dept for licenses. I like those because they have a clip.
