Never have done these before and wondering your opinions. Have been many many times but never with a lanyard. Thoughts? Getting to go for Christmas and super excited!!!

I personally don't wear a lanyard anymore; I wore one once and kept getting it caught on things and after having my neck yanked several times over the course of the weekend, I decided no more lanyards for me.

I wear a lanyard since I am the holder of the passes for me and DH (I'm a bit of a control freak). I have trading pins on my lanyard which makes it slightly weighted so perhaps that's why I haven't had the issue of getting it caught on things. Overall, I really like it since it's easier than pulling out our wallets or keeping our passes in a pocket of a bag (where they could potentially fall out).

I usually wear a lanyard to hold everyone's tickets and FP. Not sure how necessary it will be this trip as we are planning on using MaxPass.

I have never worn a lanyard but have a couple of cute across body bags with little pockets inside and a Gelatoni bag that holds FP’s and tickets. I find these are safer then pockets and other bags as I can pull the bag around to the front and lift up to easily access.

I am a big pin collector and used to wear my lanyard on all trips but have recently stopped for reasons that previous posters have mentioned, catching on things, making sure they are held on rides etc they do get annoying after a while.

Thanks for your input everyone. I have a great bag I always bring and it works great. I think I will stick with that.

I personally do not wear the lanyard because my neck will hurt after a while. DD wears hers because she has her pins on it. Although she gets tired of wearing at times and i put it in my bag. I will sometimes use the lanyard just to put all the tickets in there and then put it in my bag or DH that way i just look for the lanyard and not the tickets.

I wore a lanyard last trip I put and it was so helpful with scanning tickets at the rides. It was just myself and DD so I put both tickets in one lanyard with the bar codes facing out. Scan, flip, scan and proceed to the ride!

We did it for the first time this last trip and I will totally do it again, especially since we have a billion tickets to keep track of. Using maxpass to scan from the phone is not as fast and kind of cumbersome, IMO. We just did tickets back to back in a card holder, stuck it on the lanyard and it was super fast to scan and we always knew where the tickets were. I just got skinny cord ones from Amazon - like 14 for $8, and then some zip top card ID holders from Amazon also (I think), like 10 for $7. ETA: if we didn't have to use actual tickets for FP I wouldn't, but considering we are using the 3-4x an hour I needed them accessible.

I like the lanyard at Disneyland personally. More so now that you have to scan your park admission to utilize your Fastpass at the Fastpass entry location. Plus you may want to purchase a couple pins to adorn it. :D

Also I know you said you were doing a bag, but I vote yes to lanyard too. I found each of us a cute one on amazon for cheap and it worked well to hold tickets, hotel cards, fp, etc. I have a stroller for non-valuable items and I keep all my cash, cards, etc in my zipped pockets or lanyard so I don’t have to wear a purse all day (I hate bags an theme parks)- just a thought to see you up

I won't use a lanyard, but for my last trip I put my AP in a clear plastic waterproof badge holder and attached it to a retractable badge reel that I clipped to either my bag or my top. When I needed to scan my AP it was super easy to pull and scan and then it just retracted back into place.

We never did lanyards until our last tip. With the new process of everyone needing to scan themselves into the FP line for rides, we did lanyards for everyone and it worked great. (We didn't want to have to scan each person in using one phone.)

We did lanyards last time (June 17) for fast pass and pin trading, loved it, bought some for the kids for our next visit, sounds like it will definitely make things easier re new fastpass sytem...

We used lanyards our last trip, and it was great. We hadn't used them before, but will from now on

As long as anyone wearing the lanyard is responsible (maybe not little kids), having each person scan their own ticket at the FP touchpoint saves everyone in line so much time. I hated when I'd get stuck behind someone fumbling to find the tickets in their bag or wallet, or pulling out their phone, opening the app, finding the FP, scan-swipe-scan-swipe-scan-swipe. So much faster to have each do their own single file.

We never used to use lanyards because it was easy to have one person hold all the paper FPs and hand them off, but I was sold on lanyards after using them at Universal Florida for their Express Pass last spring, and now with MaxPass. On Amazon we found waterproof clear pouches that double-attached to the lanyard, and soft lanyards that didn't bother my neck (and I am sensitive).
