Lanyards still being handed out?

Thought i'd post this question here as it came up in a Wish thread. Folks on the WISH said they were not getting Castaway Club lanyards? Gold or Platinum. Some said they are being phased out. Has anyone come across this on other ships?

They stopped handing them out in the terminal on the Fab 4, but they were on the beds unless that just changed.

We were on the Wish Maiden Voyage and did not get CC lanyards. DVC is still giving lanyards to its members.

ETA: we did indeed get CC lanyards. They were hidden inside one of the other gifts.

Seriously? Eve more cutbacks? CC already barely has any rewards. Lanyards can't cost Disney all that much and they're incredibly convenient.

Maybe they just didn't have enough supply for all the platinum folks on the maiden voyage.

We received them on the July 4th Dream cruise but did not receive them on the Wish MV. When I asked a CM I was told they are phasing them out fleet wide. But, the DVC cruise immediately following the MV did get the Castaway Club lanyards.....so don't know!!! Plus, the DVC members were getting their DVC lanyards. I hope I heard incorrectly.

Ugh, note to pack them for our next cruise. We are dvc too. If we still get cards, then we need lanyards. My teens grands always use one.

Just checked with a friend who got off the Dream on Saturday and they got them.

I sailed the Fantasy in March and got a lanyard as usual. You need your room card to open your stateroom, so it would be pretty awful of them to stop giving lanyards.

We got them on the Wonder for the July 4 cruise, but we don't use them any more. Since there is so much with the phone now, we either buy a phone case with a place for the stateroom card on the back or a cell phone lanyard with a place for the stateroom card on the back.

This makes me happy. Our cruise on the Wish next week will be #6 and, even though it's a little thing, we are looking forward to getting them! Hope you had a good trip!

I like getting them... and I liked wearing them.

I remember back years ago when we first cruised...most everyone had them on. I think it's great, on deck and at Castaway to just have the lanyard with KTW Card and DL.

But I'm over 50... really don't see the point in needing a DL to drink at this point.

DCL should have over ordered more LANDYARDS and fewer of those sling bags! I like them, even if I throw it in my day pack. Makes it harder to lose the room key.
