Leaving for Universal on Wed--do we need lanyards?

When using the mandatory lockers for the rides that have them, do you literally just hang onto your park ticket (and if so, do you use a lanyard?) and put everything else in the locker?

I absolutely use lanyards there. We stay onsite so there's a keycard. Then there's the Express Pass which is a separate tyvek card. Then our APs which are also tyvek. Plus a CC and ID and insurance card...oh yeah, lanyards for us. I use a Witz brand "See it Safe" hard plastic, waterproof "pouch" at the bottom of my Ravenclaw school tie lanyard.

If it weren't for water, phone, and sunscreen, I'd be bag-free there.

Thanks! I can't find the ones we used to use at Disney. Sounds like we'll be able to find lanyards on property; will there be the plastic cases for sale at Universal as well?

Lanyards are everywhere in just about every design you want. We all went with Harry Potter. :) The lanyards have soft plastic pouches (I think they come with them, but if not they'll be right there). I bought my case from REI.

Lanyards are ideal.........yes, on certain rides with metal detectors you won't be allowed anything other than lanyards.........

Everything else must go in a locker.

Make sure you get one with a zip lock pouch. The Express Passes and park tickets are not robust enough to last long if they get wet. And if you ride any of the water rides, I promise you, they will get wet unless they are zip locked.

See my Witz brand mention above.

We had more than one ziptop from Disney rip or break, and even rip OFF the metal lanyard clip thing. So I went to Witz.

I've always just used my bag (or my pocket on those rides I couldn't take a bag on).

Want to borrow one of mine? :)

We didn't use lanyards on our last trip and it went well. I know many like them though. We stayed onsite at RPR so we did need to take our hotel card out for EP. I think we did HE 5 times in just one day, so we had to take out our tickets for that. But still, no big deal for us. We travel with one backpack for the five of us so we can put things in there. Good pockets would work well too though, as long as it isn't a water ride.

Re: Witz case: Does it need to be clear? Do you just show it, or do you need to take it out of the case to use it? I have not yet been to UO, so am unfamiliar with how using the passes (EP and park pass) work. Thank you.

It's just easier if it's clear.......not that it's an issue bringing them out for every ride........just saves doing it.

All of our lanyards have the clear plastic........TM can scan through the plastic when you go on rides........only thing we take out is park ticket on entering when TM will scan it at entry gates.

We didn't use lanyards on our trip. I wanted them at first but I always have a back pocket so I just slipped my EPs and sometimes a credit card in there. When a ride required lockers we put everything in but the express passes.
