I cannot find the post now, but I remember reading not to buy the Universal lanyards, that they wont last. The post gave recommendations, but I forgot. What lanyards should I buy that will not let cards and passes fall out but not be uncomfortable wearing. TIA

I've never heard anything bad about the Universal lanyards. Ours have held up just fine over 3 years of use.

My lanyard is from seaworld and I have had it at least 6 years. Still works.

A couple in my party have universal/HP ones and noone has said anything is wrong with them.

But you can even get one from walmart, ebay, amazon and tons of other places. You can get a fancy one or plain jane. Just get one with a clear pounch.

The first place we went in Universal was Diagon Alley. The first thing we bought in Diagon Alley was a lanyard for each of my kids in their house colors from Quality Quidditch Supplies. They loved them, and no problems with quality for the trip. I don't know how long those clear plastic holders last on any lanyard; I expect them to be fairly flimsy no matter where they're purchased.

You can easily change the clear plastic thing easily. They are cheap. I think I changed mine last year.

(I thought they meant the lanyard itself. I don't think the clear plastic will hold up no matter where you bought them)

We have several USO lanyards from the last few years, and the lanyards themselves are holding up great. The plastic card holders have been fine, but the seals are tight and a bit iffy. This year, we got Stranger Things HHN lanyards and the free UtH lanyards. This year those lanyards have larger card holders with a zip close. Those seem a lot better, and we had no issue using those. I hear that if you go to any onsite store that sells lanyards and tell them you need a new card holder they will give you a new one. I've not done so, but I heard they will replace them. Now, when we are going on water rides, I make sure to have a waterproof card holder. I bought those from amazon, and I just hook it onto a USO lanyard.

We’ve had our clear plastic parts for about 10 years!! They seal and are still waterproof.

They are still fine and work.......the only reason we haven’t ever replaced them is we haven’t found anything better!

We just alternate the actual lanyard although usually stick to our favourite HHN ones!
