I keep seeing posts about buying lanyards to keep park passes in, but isn't keeping them in the little back pocket of a fanny pack okay too? I'm totally new to the Disney World experience. Can someone tell me the pros and cons of the lanyard? I have this paranoid feeling that somehow it would fall off my neck on a ride.

I keep my passes and room key in the back pocket of my fanny pack- it works great. If you are in the habit of returning them to the same place all the time- there is no diggin for the passes- because they are the only thing in the back pocket! I guess the advantage of having it on a lanyard is that you would not have to 'dig' to get your pass or key out- you can just swipe it. But honestly- it's just as easy for me to retreive my pass from the fanny pack as it would be from a lanyard. I think whatever you're most comfortable with will work for you.

I used to do that too... but I found this great lanyard on Rei.com . So I'm going to try it. The good thing to keep in mind about REI is if they have a store in your area you can have it shipped there free of charge and if you don't like once you get there just have them credit you account.

Thanks to both of you for your input. I probably prefer using my fanny pack, but I realized I'll probably need a lanyard for the water park and when I'm in costume for MNSSHP. I'll go check them out at REI.

I love these boards! Everyone is so nice and helpful!
