Hi all -

Hoping to avoid buying the expensive HP lanyards, so I went to Walmart today at bought plain black lanyards with a clip on the end. My plan is to punch a hold in our 4 day passes (I'm bringing a hold punch :)) and clip them to the lanyards. Will this work? Or do I need the clear plastic badge holders as well? I think I read here about others who have done this but just want to confirm.

We leave tomorrow!!! So excited!

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't trust punching the paper passes. Punching the room keys is fine but the paper passes might not hold up as well.

totally agree with damo on this question.

if you are set on using the hole puncher for the tickets, buy some laminating sheets and coat the tickets before punch the hole.

you will have more protection with your ticket from being destroyed or torn.
and, if you go on water rides, the ticket will have some protection from being destroyed.

really, you are better off buying a plastic sleeve.

go to walmart or any place that has fishing supplies.
for .50 cents, you can buy the plastic pocket with a safety pin at the hole of it to put your uo ticket in.

those are called fisherman's id pockets.

i have one myself, but haven't used it as i am a lanyard type of homie.

The tickets say void if altered, would laminating them be considered altering?

We bought ours, went in the gate I put mine in my lanyard and never took it out again in the park. My travelmate put hers in her zip pocket. Not like you'll need them for Fast Passes or anything.

good question, but i don't know the answer.

i don't know universal's definition of "altered".

My daughter and I bought great lanyards at Hot Topic. I got a Deathly hallows one and she got a Gryffindor one. They were 6 bucks a piece and already had the plastic holder attached to it. If you don't see them at the stores you can get them online at their website.
