I think I would like to get some fast pass holders before I go to disney but would like your advice on which ones to get. There are the retractable ones that have a plastic zip pouch attached to them or there are the ones that go around your neck.

Which one do you all suggest ? I'm thinking that the necklace ones might have the tendency of falling off on some of the rides but would be easier to remove to get the passes.

Can you all give me your suggestions. Also, how much do they cost at Disney - maybe it's not worth getting them beforehand.

Thanks for your help. STILL waiting for those October hours !! :rolleyes1 :headache: :charac2:

Where did you see these retractable one's??? :confused3 I've always just used a plastic sleeve at the end of my pin lanyard.

Must be used in combination with a hip pouch, as you said for the bigger rides.

LMK, Thanks

I've seen the retractables at MK's emporium by the lanyards. It's a blue mickey head and I think it's $6.

I have one and I use it for my work ID.

Personally I like the neck lanyards, I don't trust the clips on the retractable ones that much. I worry too much that it would snag on something and get ripped off.

We had the lanyard with the clear pocket at the bottom but just used our pockets on our shorts. Crazy I know.... :rotfl2:

I used a lanyard with a plastic pouch last time and it worked great - planning on doing it again next week. It keeps you ticket and your fastpass easily accessible rather than having to dig through a bag or pockets. :goodvibes

Yep,
Lanyard with plastic pouch for me too, if im going on a ride that has sharp twists and turns or drops i tuck the whole thing down my tshirt to stop myself getting wacked in the face by it or loosing it

Quaktastic -
I saw them today on ebay. They are mickey ears with zip pouch attached. I think they're just a clip back, though. Would feel better with a pin back but you could ask him.

I have the retraactable holders. I really like them, but have a tendency to try to cram too much in them -- pass with sleeve, debit card, DDE card....

What you may really like is just the slim pack holder that Passporter offers. I bought one years ago. It is flat, compact and light weight. And easily will hold passes, cards, etc.

Their book is great too, if you have never used one.

can someone tell me how much a lanyard costs on average at the parks? I'm thinking of ordering some off ebay and I don't want to get ripped off.

Where can I get a laynard here in Michigan? I need one for my disney trip and funny enough I need one for my security pass at work. Thanks in advance!

WalMart is probably your best bet - they sell a clear plastic pouch on a black necklace for around $2. Depending on the WalMart, some have them in their jewelry department, others in office/school supplies area - best to ask someone there. I've also seen similar things at Office Depot, but more expensive.

As I recall, the ones in the park run about $10. I bought a Disney Cruise one about 3 years ago and I love it - very durable! What's nice about them is that they are *Disney* - but that may not be suitable for work!!

I don't know if Disney Store would carry them or not. So much has changed with those stores, I rarely go there anymore. Perhaps you could check on-line with Disney Direct. They'll have everything the Disney Stores have and more!

Hi Umaangel. We are leaving this Saturday (8/20) and I am willing to pick up a Lanyard for you if you want. Let me know basically what you are looking for and then PM me with your address and I will send it to you before your trip. Let me know. Sheila :flower:

I recently picked up a couple at Wal Mart for only .97 each. They're on a black cord and have a clear pouch on the end that zips closed and then have a clear pocket on the outside that a fast pass should be able to just slip into. They had two styles: one had the clear pouch in a vertical position (the ones I bought) and the other has the clear pouch in a horizontal position. The pouch easily holds my AP, DDE card, insurance card, drivers license, and a few dollars. In addition it should also easily hold my room key and safe key. I found them on a rack with the billfolds and plan to wear it tucked under my blouse.

DITTO.............used these last year and they are clearly the best....and most inexpensive! BTW, only 18 more days til WDW!!!

and while I like it, I find that I have trouble in the heat when I have to get into it and get out our KTTW cards whether for going into the parks or getting fastpasses. The pouch doesn't hold that much, and when it's hot, it gets kind of sticky so it's hard to get the cards out. Also, since it's plastic, using it repeatedly to get in and out will cause the plastic to break.

I'm thinking of checking out WalMart to see if they have something a bit more durable; otherwise, I might order the one on Passporter. We're staying offsite in November and I'd rather not take my purse with me. With that one, I can hold all our passes (we'll have APs by then), our DDE card, money and a pen for autographs.
