Landry's Select Question

Hopefully someone will be able to answer this... We are Landry's Select members and right now I have my $25 birthday reward, which expires on April 15. Does anyone know if you can use a birthday reward to buy a gift card? I would rather have a gift card to use at Yak & Yeti during my May/June trip, than make trip to spend it now.

I think you can go to the website and defer your birthday reward and then use it at Yak and Yet I.

This is why I put my son's January birthday on my card, since we will most likely always go to WDW in January. It's the only time we eat at Landry's restaurants.

Do they check your license for birthday otherwise changing the month would be better for us!

We went in mid-July last year. I had signed up in June and told them my birthday was in June. So on our trip we got both rewards (signup and birthday + a month). We typically go in June, so it works out perfectly. By the way, my actual birthday is in March... nobody checked, nobody cared. On years we don't go to WDW, I'll use it at Rainforest or Salt Grass in our area.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'm hoping someone can help. I want to do the Select Club for our trip in January, except our latest birthday is in August (and then the next in February). Can I defer the August birthday clear until January?? We have no Landry's restaurants closer than 8 hours from us so will likely never use it outside of Disney and we only go to Disney in January every 3-4 years! I'd like to be able to use it if possible.

Since this thread is being resurrected again I though I would add that we have been carded to check our birthday EVERY time we have used a birthday reward at Rainforest--locations in FL, TX, and CA.

If the birthday reward can be deferred you can register with your actual birthday. I've read where people registered with the month they usually travel. That would then not be necessary?

My bd is june 30 and if it were july 1 that would make a huge difference for the times we usually travel if the bd reward can not be deferred

When they mention "deferring your award" on the Landry's website, it only means that you have elected not to use it on your very next visit. The award still expires on the date stated. So, if you have a January birthday and you are traveling in June, the birthday award will have expired by the time that you visit. That's why people are registering with a fake birthday.

However, if your birthday is 6/30 and you are traveling 7/1, the award should be good. My birthday is at the end of the month and my awards usually expire in the month following my birthday.

Sorry, should have been more specific.
If my BD is 6/30, the BDreward is valid from June 1-July15
If my BD is 7/1 (only a day later), the BDreward is valid from July 1-Aug15 which would be so much better for our travel patterns

So if the BD rewards can NOT be deferred, I get why people put fake birthday on the registration. What happens when you get carded, then what do you say?

My birthday is in August, but we generally travel to WDW in November. I said my birthday was in November when I signed up. We used the rewards two years in a row and no one checked my ID.
