Land & Sea Package Question

Has anyone done the land & sea package since they started the magical express transportation? Did everything run smoothly from the airport to the resort? Did you have to wait a long time to arrive at the resort? Did your luggage arrive ok?????? Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I can surely understand your apprehension, I placed many calls to Disney to make sure that this would all work out. Thankfully, everything worked out ok! We never received the infamous "Magic Express" yellow tags so I worried that if we placed the "Blue" Wonder tags on our bags, even though there was a small barcode on the inside that read, "Poly" I was concerned that there was a chance that our bags would mistakenly go to the ship as there were folks going from the airport to the Wonder that Thursday.

When we got off the plane, rode the train/tram then went past security, we looked for the folks with the big white Mickey gloves. They directed us down the hall, around the corner (maybe we also went down?) to the Magical Express welcome center. There were lots of people, a few long lines and lots of activity, but don't be intimidated. The lined moved pretty quickly. I waited in line, presented the CM with our documents, he saw the voucher for Magical Express, he gave me a sheet with four "boarding passes" then we went across the way to wait in lines based on which resort to which you were going. We waited for about 10 minutes or so, then boarded our bus. Our first stop was Ft. Wilderness, then the Wilderness Lodge, then the Contemporary, then the Poly.

We checked it at the front desk, then went over to the cruise desk and presented all of our documents so that we would be completely checked in with them as well. Our rooms were READY!!!!!!, so we went upstairs, went to the bathroom, hung about for a few minutes... there was a knock at the door and one of our bags had arrived. We were traveling with other family members, they were in an adjoining room, we each got a bag. We were hungry, we are not sure when the others arrived but they were there when we returned to the room later that night.

Everything worked out exactly as it should have, I would be a bit patient still with the Magical Express, but other than that, everything else was great! Hope you have a great trip. We certainly did, we've already booked another cruise!

Just got back from my land and sea vacataion

I was quite nervous about the whole idea of magical express but there was no reason to be - after this trip, I am completely convinced that Disney is a well oiled and fine tuned machine! They are just so good at making your vacation a relaxing one!

Now if all other vacation spots in the world would follow suit with the idea of magical express - the world would be a happier place I think!

Our experience with the Magical Express is that it still has some kinks to work out. We got where we needed to be and our bags got where they needed to be, but there were lots of long lines to stand in. I spoke with one of the cast memebers and she told me that the Disney bags are pulled from the group before they ever get to baggage claim. Once I heard that it made me feel better.

Just make sure you get those tags on your bag. While I was standing in line I overheard lots of conversations about people not tagging their bags and then having to describe them to the cast members and hoping that they got the right ones.

Also when you set your bags out the night before you disembark on the cruise if you have some sort of ribbon or something on the handle it will make it easier to find your luggage in the holding area. There are so many bags and your families will probably get seperated. I saw lots of people searching through very similiar looking bags for theirs.

But relax it will all work out. I know I was a nervous wreck about it all, but it was all fine.
