Does anyone know what's going on in the spot circled in red? The map is outdated but I was driving by and noticed they cleared out A LOT of trees. It's a big open area with mounds of dirt. Screenshot_20220703-150128_Earth.jpg

Hmm, could it be an expansion of the FW campsites? They're always selling out.

Interesting question. We drove past that about a week ago and didn't notice any activity. Looks to be too far away from Ft Wilderness to be an expansion of that.

Try googling the abandoned airport on DisneyWorld property.
Kinda interesting and kinda looks like the area you are asking about.
I think

When looking at maps it still carries the name, Lake Buena Vista STOLport.

The old runway is the North/south road just to the left of the circled area. Seems like an odd area to work in. It looks like it might have something to do with the old Reflections site. The Google maps image that I have found, show both sites having machinery in both locations. So maybe a place to put dirt cleared from one spot.

Definitely not related to the Stolport. It's near it but not connected

I don't have access to it right now but if anyone has Google earth pro on their PC- I think the most recent image from time travel mode shows the area.

I just pulled up that area on Google Earth Pro and the 1st anything shows up in that area is October 2019 where there is open dirt showing but the newest pictures from July 2022 doesn't show any exposed dirt, it looks like grass is growing in that area now. Based on that I'm betting that it was part of the work for the Reflections Resort. See attached pictures from Google Earth Pro

Yeah, it appears the exact same time they started working on reflections so I think you are right.
