Gang, need some help for a project. I thought I heard that Disney World has moved to a manager of a "Land" (one person responsible for all areas in the land) vs. having operational solos (All merchandising reporting up to Merchandising VP). Is this correct? I thought it was talked about on the Podcast and I cant find it anywhere.
Thanks!

So, would being named the manager of the Wonders of Life pavilion at Epcot be a promotion or a demotion?

Yes Disney moved to what's called Proprieters, the Proprieters handle multiple lines of business in a specific area. For each line of business, there is a separate Guest Exprience Manager team for each individual deployment location. So the proprieter would cover Main Street East, within that he would have a GEM team for the Confectionary, a merchandise location. A GEM team for the Bakery(Starbucks) and one for the ice cream shop, both of which are food and beverage locations. He would also be responsible for working directly with whatever form of management the crystal shop (Arribas Brothers, a third party company) has in place. All of those teams below him have the direct guest and cast contact. You are not very likely to deal with the proprieter yourself.

That isn't how it works. The proprietor of the WOL pavilion would also handle Ellen's, MS, and TT. Their area is call Future World East.
