Lancaster PA

We're in NJ and it takes us 16 hours of driving time. We leave home at 5am and stayed overnight in Savannah. Actually, I think the hotel was in Pooler, GA. Anyway, the next morning it only took us 4-4.5 hours (I might have had a heavy foot in anticipation!) to get to WDW.

We levr in Newark De and thae last time we drove we left @ 5PM the day after Christmas and drove right thru. I lasted till the bottom of NC then my son took over till we reached the Fl. welcome center, then i finisehs the trip. With fuel and bathroomstops and 1 stop for breakfast off of Rt4 we were checking into Saratoga Springs Resort around 9:30 in the morning.

We'd recommend stopping overnight on HHI or in Savannah, GA. HHI is our favorite. From either it's then under 6 hours drive to WDW.

Best wishes planning :goodvibes

We live west of Lancaster (was actually shopping at the Disney outlet in Lancaster yesterday...) in West Chester. We drove last summer...left about 3:30pm from my parents house about 10 min from DE state border and took 95. We pulled into AKV at 9:25am. Dh and I switched driving and napping. We stopped a couple of times for restrooms and to eat. 18 hours total.

I highly recommend this thread: 2,000 mile round trip drivers

If you want to stop, you can see reviews along 95 here:

We plan on driving again this summer straight through. We do stop on the way home though.

We are in NJ also! We just returned this Tuesday from being down there for 8days. We left about 9:30pm and arrived in Savannah to stay overnight the next day around 12 I think it was. We have small children 2 and 1 so we needed to stop here and there in the morning after they woke up. We stopped off at the Embassy Suites in Savannah/Pooler and enjoyed it. I agree it was about 4-4.5 hours from there. We will definitely do this again in the future, but for now we're going to take the Auto Train till the kids are old enough to make the drive while awake LOL.
