I'll be in DCA on 12/22, and we (likely just two of us) want to make a stop for lobster nachos. Am I reading correctly that the lounge level is all standby? How likely are we to get a spot so close to Christmas? We're open to going mid-afternoon if needed, since we'll mostly be grazing all day anyway.

I do not believe reservations opened for Lamplight Lounge after 4PM on either 12/22 or 12/29 (both are Thursdays) even though the hours of operation run until 8:30pm. I was trying to figure out why there are no reservations for those two evenings as well. Where do you see a notice of all standby?

There are two different "restaurants" listed in the app- regular Lamplight Lounge that accepts reservations (and I'm sure on busy days, basically requires them) and Lamplight Lounge- Boardwalk Dining, which it says is walkup only. It might be a new policy; I'm an infrequent visitor so wouldn't know!

In our case, we aren't looking for a full fancy meal, so we'll take our chances with the lounge situation. I'm just curious whether we'll struggle to get in.

Thank you for the clarification. One of the two (the upper deck??) is always standby only. However, no reservations have been released after 4pm on 12/22 or 12/29 so I interpret that as either both "restaurants" being standby only or possibly closed for a special event that evening. I shifted around my other days of plans because of this unknown.

I’ve done the walk up waitlist for boardwalk dining (the upper outside bar area) twice recently. You can join once you are close and then are given an appx wait time. I don’t see why it should be any harder than any other time as it isn’t reservation based. I would suggest arriving near the time it opens or trying 20 min prior to 11.

LL Boardwalk Dining is seldom actually open. I would not count on this being an option on any given day. If it is actually open where you are there, you join the walk up wait list via the app.

It’s open right now… I haven’t seen it closed my last 2 visits. Unless I am mistaking the upper outside bar area for boardwalk dining when it’s not?

Maybe they finally hired enough staff. Its literally been closed the last several Saturdays I've visited.

I have tried to eat there so many times and it’s always closed. It was actually open yesterday and I was shocked.
