"Lame Movie" inspired by Jeff in BigD

I agree Eeyorietta. I HATED HATED HATED American Beauty. i was mad for 2 days that I wasted $4.00 renting it at Blockbusters.

A semi-interesting note for the Titanic haters.... I saw an interview with James Cameron a few years ago and someone asked him why he thought people were disappointed in the movie. He said too many people were expecting a documentary of the Titanic, complete with full historical accounts. He never intended for it to be a documentary. It was always supposed to be a love story SET on the Titanic. People who were true Titanic buffs were bound to be disappointed.

I think he could have done both. There was no reason he couldn't have had the love story and a few more historical items. I know they needed to keep the time down, but I think it could have been possible without stealing anything from the Jack and Rose story.

Ida and Isidor Strauss was a true love story, yet we only get a ten second clip of them on their bed with the water rising. They cut out a scene where he was trying to get her to get in a lifeboat and she refused, wanting to die with him.


I wish Cameron would reconsider a directors cut, but I'm not holding my breath.

I walked out of "Dances With Wolves", hated "The Titanic" but loved "American Beauty". It stuck with me for a long time and didn't make me feel empty at all.

I know people just love this movie so don't flame! Mine has to be "Forest Gump". I just could not get myself to believe that this guy did all of that great stuff. According to that movie, Forest discovered just about everything. Tom Hank's voice as Forest is like nails on a chalkboard to me.
