Lambert the Sheepish Lion?

Not sure this is the right board, but . . .

The last several trips, we have enjoyed watching Lambert, Little Hiawatha, the Donald Duck cartoon with the bees and the Goofy cartoons in the lobby and in the Mara at AKL. However, last December, we noticed they were gone, and again in April, I noticed they weren't on in the food court at Pop Century. Now, it's all "Company Clips" and other more contemporary shows.

Any idea what happened to them? I wish I could find them on DVD or something. I love Lambert.

And, I too have the song in my head!
Lambert
You can't even baa, you can't even bleat
Your ears are too big and so are your feet

Lambert
Your tail is too short and so is your wool
There isn't enough for one bag full

Lambert, the Sheepish Lion
Lambert is always tryin'
To be a wild and wooly sheep
Lambert, the Sheepish Lion

Little lambs all love to butt
Their heads are hard as stone
Lambert thought that he could lick
A dozen lambs alone.

While the other lambs all gathered 'round
To watch the funny bout (oh, oh, oh, oh...)
He wanted to be counted in
But he was counted out.

Lambert, the Sheepish Lion
Lambert is always tryin'
To be a wild and wooly sheep
Lambert, the Sheepish Lion.

The little lambs got Lambert's goat
He was a nervous wreck
He had to hide behind his ma
To save his little neck.

He couldn't baa and he couldn't butt
At last poor Lambert knew
He hated to admit that he
Was yellow through and through.

One night the sheep were fast asleep
Lambert woke up with a fright
For he had heard an awful sound
And saw an awful, awful sight!

A hungry wolf had found the flock
Lambert was petrified
He couldn’t baa, he couldn’t butt
He was big but he was yellow

But when he saw this gruesome sight
And heard his mother cryin’
Somethin’ snapped inside of him
He was a ragin’ lion!

(After the fight with the wolf)

Lambert the Sheepish Lion
Lambert ... there's no denyin'
Now he's a wild a wooly sheep
Instead of a sheepish
Wailing and weepish
Little-Bo-Peepish Lion.

Wickey's Friend,

Thanks for posting this thread. We really enjoyed watching Lambert when we visited in 2004. It's nice to know that it's on DVD.

I loved Lambert as a child! That was the best story! I ordered the DVD from Amazon along with Peter and the Wolf, another must have from my childhood

Oh too funny!

This is one of the songs that we come away with after a trip. For many people the Small World song keeps playing in their head. Not for us, it's Lambert!

My favorite line is, "He was big but he was yellow..."

It cracks me up every time. I used to show this movie in Toddler Storytime when I worked as a Children's Librarian. I must have seen Lambert at least 500 times over the course of 17 years, and I still love it!!!

On one trip my son was so obsessed w/ these cartoons. Now I've got that song stuck in my head!

not that I am that old but this brought back so many memories!!!:rotfl:

Especially the mickey and pluto christmas cartoon with chip and dale in the christmas tree!!!!!

My favorite was Pluto and the Armadillo. I would figure out how long the loop was and try to tune in every time it came on. I finally found it on a compilation of Pluto cartoons DVD. Now I just need to find Plutopia and I'll be all set!

Lambert the sheepish lion is my all time favorite short cartoon. I have it on VHS. You might want to check ebay!
