LaMagique's Magical Easter in DLP *lots of pictures* updated 4-24, pg 2 #17!

I was standing by the Walt Statue, and I was so excited. I looked around and everything looked like… well, a studio. If I looked to my left, I could see Tower of Terror in construction:

If I looked to my right, I could see the Disney Animation section:

And behind me was the building that I just came out of:

Because we got there so late in the afternoon, there wasn’t as much to do. A lot of things at the Studios were shows and a lot of them had had their last performance and were getting ready to. Mom and I walked over to the area with Rockin’ Rollercoaster and got fast passes before going on the Backlot Studio Tour.

I didn’t have extremely high expectations for this attraction because of the one at WDW. It ended up being very similar, with an interesting narration/interaction in both French and English. It was okay.

Of course, there was the fun gushing water part.

There was also the Cast Member Smoking While Guests Were Present Part:

There were a couple of little other surprises that aren’t in the WDW version, so that was cute.

Next Installment: THRAY, TWO, ONNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEE!

After the Studio Backlot Tram Tour, we headed over to Rockin’ Rollercoaster!

We had fast passes, so we went right on. We went into the Aerosmith studio part and I was interested in seeing if the pre-show would be different. It was. It was different in that it wasn’t even really a show. Aerosmith is just looking at some rollercoaster models and then he says, “Going dowwnnnnn” and the doors open. My mom and I looked at each other with confused expressions on our faces before rushing inside. We got put into the third row or something like that. We waited for launch; Steven Tyler counted us down: THRAY… TWO…. ONE! And we were off!

I was expecting the exact same ride from WDW, but it WAS NOT! It was amazing! I was so glad that it was different! I was screaming out of delight and terror! When mom and I got off, we looked at each other, and then decided that we wanted to ride it again!

We ended up riding it four times that day. Each time was magnificent. It was great. I loved it! We got lucky, too, because there wasn’t really a line:

Well, after RnR, we had time to book it to the very last show in the park: Cinemagic. We ran to the Studio it was being held in with just enough time.

It ended up being this mostly-English film with Martin Short. It was funny, sort of long, though. And I was exhausted, so being a big dark room didn’t help.

Well, it was about time for the Studios to close, so after getting a couple of snacks, Mom and I headed back to the Magic Kingdom.

Okay, so my thoughts on the Studios: The whole time I was there, I felt like I was in a park that was not yet finished. Everything seemed to be under-construction. It was big and spacious, but it didn’t feel like there was much to do. I think when Tower of Terror opens, it will be better. But I do think a lot more attractions need to be put into this park. I’m glad that we went to both parks in one day, instead of trying to just go to the Studios because I am not sure if there would be enough to do.

Next Installment: Magic Kingdom Mission 2

We were going to wait for a train, but the line was so long, the trains weren’t often, and it just didn’t seem worth it. So, we got out of line and instead headed for Space Mountain. I wasn’t sure if my mom could handle it, but after doing Coaster four times, I knew she was ready.

If you read my first TR, you know that I said that the ride in the front seat was way different than any other. Well, I told my mom that we would be riding in the front because I didn’t know if she would want to get back on it after. My mom began to get nervous as she saw the trains come in. Everyone had wind-strewn hair and tears streaming down their faces. She was anxious, but I had the CM put us in the front row.

Well, it was… AMAZING! It was super-intense, just like I remembered! I loved it. When we got off of the ride, we both had tears down our faces. It was so much fun. We got off and decided to go again. Just as we were about to hop in the stand-by line, a lady gave us her fast pass tickets that were valid for RIGHT NOW. So we ran and got back in line and went on again. My mom said she did not want to sit in the front row, though. I said, “Let’s just sit wherever the CM places us.”

Well, guess who got put in the first row! I was smirking, but my mom was not happy. We ended up switching with the people next to us. The ride, again, was awesome. Loved it.

After the ride, we went in search for some food. After dealing with all of the restaurants for the most part being closed (in Fantasyland, anyway), we were frustrated. We didn’t understand why the restaurants closed at 7 when the park was open until 10pm. We also didn’t understand why the CMs we talked to didn’t seem to have a clue as to where else we could go. My mom whispered to me that the CM probably didn’t even know what time the park closed. So, I asked him in French and he said, “I don’t know, let me find out.” I was frustrated. Was it not important to these CMs to be knowledgeable? I might seem unforgiving, but having worked at Disney (albeit, not DLP), I know that they at least provided us with an easy way of knowing that information. CMs are the ones that guests look to for information! It is our responsibility to know things as simple as park hours.

Anyway, we ended up finding this waffle cart and then moseying over to Main Street. We were exhausted, but we wanted to watch their special lighting of the castle, called “Candleabration.”

It was okay, but because of where we were placed, we really couldn’t see much of anything. I thought the show would take place by/on the castle, but instead, it was in front of the castle on a podium.

Mom and I decided to say good-bye to Disneyland at this point, working our way through the crowd and the beautifully lit Main Street USA area to the exit.

We dragged ourselves to the train station, stood in line to get tickets, got on the train, and headed back to Paris. We were completely pooped, but we were so glad that we went. My mom, who likes Disney but thinks I’m crazy, ended up telling me later that it was her favorite part of our European vacation. Yay!

Your photos are wonderful, thank you so much for sharing them!

I agree: beautiful pictures!:thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing your report. RnR Coaster is my favourite attraction, if I ever get to be a millionaire I`ll get one in my backyard;) :rotfl:

Thank you so much for such a lovely detailed report, I've really enjoyed reading it and your photos are wonderful! :cloud9:

:thumbsup2 Great Trippie!
:woohoo: I finally got to see all the pictures today, well worth the wait! :)

I loved your report and all of the pictures. I would  to go to Paris and DLP would just be an awesome perk.

My sis lived in Paris for about a year and I kept bugging her to go but she never made it:sad2: . She said it was very expensive to live there in general. However, she has talked on and on about the crepes.

So...tell me the differences in RnR and Space Mtn from WDW in FL. They both sound much more thrilling...I love RnR but I find Space Mtn a bit dull and your description sounds like it is the opposite.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it and now I have to read your other TR.:goodvibes

The differences between RnR @ WDW and @ Paris:
Both rides are great! RnR at WDW is much more colorful, and more "friendly" I would say. I really like the pre-show much better. It's smooth, fun, fast, great.

RnR at Paris: It's... intense. But still fun! They count you down, but I feel like the loop is much different. I think you can see the tracks a little bit... they are silver. The lights are so different. There aren't road signs, there are like laser beams. The themeing isn't there as much, but it's so THRILLING that you're like, "AHHH!" you don't care. It's scarier, I would say. Haha.

The differences between Space Mountain @ WDW and @ Paris
All the difference in the World! They really are two different rides. Things that are the same: the theme of Space. You can see asteroids and meteors and all that on both. But SM2 is... INTENSE. Probably the most intense ride at the Disney Parks (well, besides MS, but I don't really like that). It lauches you in the beginning, kind of like RnR. It has parts where it slows down and speeds up and it's just really cool. The graphics are great, you can't see the tracks AT ALL and it's terrifying, thrilling, but still has that Disney touch all the same. I loved it!

Everyone gets off the ride with their hair a mess and tears running down their cheeks. I got off with my voice gone, I was screaming so much! It's definitely a must-do!

Thank you so much for sharing your Trip Report with us, I really loved seeing all of the pictures and hearing your descriptions of everything!
