What is the hype? Are they the hot toy for the new Christmas season? I'm noticing they're sold out online everywhere.

My daughter talks about them when the commercial is on, but other than that I've not heard anything about them.

DD's been mentioning them. I think I'll take a look when she's not with me, I can always return it later if she doesn't ask for one for Christmas. I looked at the prices on ebay and

I got 4 for DD for Christmas. She's never handled one yet, but she is interested... At least in the ones with purple hair.

I think they're awfully cute, but I'm afraid I'm a alittle too old for one myself!

I just asked DD9 what it was and she was like "oooh, you got me one, everybody wants one". Looks like a glorified rag doll to me. I sure don't get why my little american girl fan would be interested in what I suspect will be next year's yard sale $1 item. Guessing I may find out though if she puts it on the santa wish list...

I've seen them and I think they'rr adorable! My DD is 3 and hasn't shown much interest but she says they're cute when the commercial comes on. We went to Toys R Us today and there were millions of them all $27.99 each. Wonder if they're expecting a huge following for holiday season like tickle me elmo. ???

They actually freak my DD8 out! She says they remind her of the "other" Coraline. Ok by me, one less toy I have to chase around for, for the holidays!

DD bought one w/b-day money and while they're absolutely adorable, they're hard plastic. She can't sleep w/it b/c it's so hard and I don't see the appeal but she loves it.

I was just in Toys R Us today and they had plenty of stock. They also had a twin pack that were cute, but yikes! $54.99 for the two! That's crazy!

My kids are scared of them, lol. The eyes freak them out!

I bought two of them today at TRU. I have two great nieces (both age 7) who I think might like them for Christmas. My niece is three, but I think she might too young. Anyway, I bought them because I think they may get popular and will be hard to find. The cashier at TRU said they have been selling like crazy the last few days. I can always take them back if I change my mind.

DD has been talking about wanting one for a few months --- pretty much since she saw the first commercial for them. This past weekend she said that's what she wants from Santa. I looked online and amazon was the only place I found them instock. Today after I took her to school I tried Walmart and they were sold out. I then went to Target and they had 2 of them - the one "made" from the baby blanket and the one "made" from the artist apron. I bought them both. I think the reason DD is attracted to them is bc Coraline is her favorite movie. They seem like very expensive plastic dolls to me - $24.99 plus tax.

Now the only thing I have left to get her for Christmas is a few small stocking stuffers.
