Hi I was just wondering whether anyone out there has been to florida with Thomas Cook holidays before as we have booked a lakeview home with them and although they narrow down the villa communities to 4 I'd like to hear from someone who has stayed in one of theirs , what was it like and where did you end up!

Hi Rachel, it may help if you listed the communities that have been offered and we could give you a good idea on what each one is like. That way you will go prepared!!

Sorry, that probably would be a good idea wouldnt it!

They have said it will either be Lake Berkeley, Oak Island Cove, Bridgewater Communities and Hampton Lakes.

Hope someone knows what these are like!!

Hi

We have never used Thomas Cook - we usually do DIY or Virgin - depends what works out cheapest!

However, when we went in 2001 with Virgin we stayed at Hampton Lakes. It is a fairly new development (the property we stayed in was less than a year old). It is on the US27 a few miles south of the 192. It is a really nice development and I wouldn't hesitate staying there again.

I can't comment on the other communities - although I'm sure there are others who will.
