It just chaps my rear the way this town is bending over backwards for a team that quite frankly has screwed us every which way from the word go!

They even kept the bars downtown open till 4am last night!

The Maigc...."We want a new arena" POOF! There go our tax dollers for a new arena!

The citizens..."We want a performing arts center" Well, we need to do a study, and screw ourselves trying to buy some land, and maybe another study...Oh heck, you have the Bob Carr! Isn't that good enough?

I couldn't agree with you more.

But arts and culture get screwed and take a back seat to sports everywhere. It's a very sad commentary on our society.

I just think it's funny that there are now so many fanatical Magic fans now. How many of them couldn't name any of the players a month ago?

That sucks! It happened here though too... at the High School... barely enough $$$ to buy books, supplies, computers, etc... Laying off paraprofessionals left and right, shutting down the business dept... yet building a $10 million dollar "sports complex", which has no sound system of its own (has to be borrowed from the theatre dept), no bathrooms (the rent porta-potties) and no concessions stands, unless you count the folding card tables....

Priorities are way screwed up!

I hate that! It happens up here too... I was a born NEW ENGLAND sports team fan. I cheer them all on. All the time. It drives me batty when someone only watches the World Series or the Superbowl...
