How are the lake view villas at BLT? I don't want to use the points to get a theme park view but will if it is that much better! Opinions??

Personal view is that lake view is better than theme park view (and I have done both). Theme park view is good for one thing, view of the castle and fireworks at night. Otherwise, particularly during daylight hours, what you see is not that great, including a large parking lot in front of the building. Most lake views actually give you nice views all day long of the lake and some have combined very nice lake view and also view of MK, and thus the fireworks, to the left on the balcony. One request you should make with lake view is high floor because the higher the better the view.

We stayed at a true lake view room 3 weeks ago . High floor , north tower but odd numbered room so it was facing Ft Wilderness and such . Great view of EPCOT Illuminations show from our balcony. Pool down below if you like that. We did watch Wishes from both the Top of the World lounge and also one night from the elevator lobby. They have these gigantic windows and view was great ! Frankly I would try for lake View again and save the points .
In turn I would SPEND the extra pts to get Boardwalk view over at BWV .

We stayed in a 9th floor lake view studio during the first summer that BLT opened. We were pleased with the view. It made up for our disappointment with the size of the studio unit for our 4-person group. Great resort. We plan to visit again, but in a larger unit and will definitely opt for lake view again.

We thought our lake view onebedroom was noisy with the noise at the pool. And with the stuff going on at night (water parade, echos of the fireworks booms, etc).

We stayed in a theme park view last month. We LOVED it! The castle is lit all night long. And yes, I got up at 3 pm and stood on the balcony. The big surprise was the daytime view. It was cool to see the movement of the monorails, busses, and boats. We could even see the train in the MK. And the Astro Orbiter. We loved our lake view at GFV too, and I think we would have been fine with a lake view at BLT. I'm about to book BLT for next December, and the whole family wants the Magic view again. If you have the points, it's a fun splurge!

Our lake view room at the end of the hall, top floor not on the pool side of the building (odd numbered rooms?) was fantastic. We walked into the room and saw only water and trees beyond; the best view ever. When we were on the balcony we could see the MK. Our friends had the MK view and had great parking lot views with the MK in the background.

The second time we stayed there we had a lake view when we looked to the right, but otherwise we looked straight into the rooms across the courtyard. They really do need sheers on the windows.

We've enjoyed both views, and would do either again. I don't see us paying the points for a MK view every time we stay there, but it was certainly worth it when we had the grandkids with us.

When it was the two of us in a studio, we enjoyed the lake view. We've stayed in both the even-numbered and odd-numbered lake view rooms. Some folks have said that they don't like the odd-numbered because of looking across the courtyard into other rooms. However, I really enjoyed sitting on our balcony and watching the pool and lake.

On another trip, we had an even-numbered room on the South side of the building, very close to the elevators. I wasn't as thrilled with this view, as we were looking out more at the main Contemporary tower than we were the lake. It was still an enjoyable stay, though.

I like the BLT Lake view the best and the fact that it is less points is just a bonus for me

When we stay at BLT, we always do Lake View and request, High Even room in the North Tower. It is kinda a 3 part request, but we have never been disappointed. We have always gotten the North tower and always an even # room. The floor has varied. But the net is that Even # rooms are on the outside and face the park. Almost every North Tower room has some angle of the park. So you basically spend Lake View points and get a Park view room. Next trip is for the week before July 4th, so here's to hoping we keep the streak going.

The North side is also very private so technically you can go streaking on the balcony and nobody will notice, unless the parasailers get close or someone decides to play tennis.

Which is why we ask for that view specifically... ;)
