How long should I plan for the drive from Lake Havasu City, AZ to DLR? We will travel on a Sunday, February 22 and plan on leaving between 7 and 8 AM. Any advise on a route? Thanks.

Hi, you have definetly come to the right place. I have lived in Lake Havasu for the past 28 years, and have been a Disney Nut for way longer. If you choose the route south through Parker toward Vidal Junction, into Desert Center at the I-10, it will take you between 4 and 5 hours depending on the traffic. The other route is on AZ-95 north out of Havasu to the I-40 that will take you around 5 to 6 hours to get there. On holiday weekends I would always go the the I-40 way as my dear friend lost her life on the Desert Center route.:tink:

I just moved from havasu out here by anaheim! My parents still live there and I go back there soooo often, its home and I miss it terribly!!!!!

Good to see some locals!

Tink collector-Thanks. So sorry about your friend. I'll take this information with me. It's not a holiday weekend, so I'll speak with my mom who vacations in Lake Havasu in the winter months. We're going to visit so of course, we planned a trip to DLR!!! I was hoping to get to DLR by 2 PM, looks like that is a possibility, YIPPEE! We're celebrating DD 6th birthday.
Thanks again.

My parents have spent their winters in Lake Havasu for the past 20 years. They had a wonderful home down there (with a great view of the lake, pool and hot tub) that they sold a couple of years ago, and now they own a condo without much of a view, and they HATE it! But they can't sell it because there's no one buying right now.

They didn't think they'd miss having a view and being able to "see out" from their back patio, but boy were they wrong.

I guess they're just going to have to deal with it for a few more years until the market recovers.

My mom is an avid golfer and golfs in a ladies group at least three times per week. And my mom and dad go to the Elks club at least once a week. I went to the Elks club for dinner once with my parents and I had to laugh because it was one of the busiest, hip-happening place for retirees that I've ever seen......every table was full......the bar was full......people were dancing, laughing, drinking, eating......it was like one big party!:cool1:

Anyway, my mom drove from Havasu to Disneyland a few years ago to meet us there (she was helping to watch our then two year old, who happens to be 9.5 years old now), and it took her about 4.5 hours, but I'm not sure what route she took. Sorry, I guess that's not much help.

Well, at least I want to wish you a very fun and magical trip for your DD's 6th birthday!:cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1:
