Lake George, The Good, The Bad & your points....

Hi, we were thinking of maybe doing a family trip to Lake George next summer while using our points. I remember reading something about them charging you points per person in addition to the point in the book. Is this correct? The search of cause isn't working, SoI thought I would ask you expects. Did you enjoy your trip here. I know the resort is on the old side but we think that adds to the charm of Lake George. I'm calling MS on Monday but wanted to hear opinions first. So please share enyerthing you know about this resort. We been to the area so no need for information there. Thanks,

There is a $95 charge to book within the Concierge Collection.

Well, we live in Lake George, and the Sag is awesome. The food is excellent, the spa is so incredible, and the views of the narrows are amazing. I would not necessarily call the resort "old", but it is historic. They really have done a lot of work on the resort in the last few years, and since you can walk anywhere in town - it can be very convenient. I believe that you can arrange for the Sagamore shuttle to pick you up at the airport.

My husband and I have been there for their Sunday brunch (which was so good), and I have been to the spa several times. The Trillium has wine tasting dinners at various times of the year which are so well done, and you can also go out on the Morgan - their boat - for dinner or fireworks or both I believe.

We are new to DVC, but I know one of the many reasons why we bought was that any extra points (not that we have any...) could be used for a getaway to the Sagamore.

My vote would be to go for it and come visit us up here!

Thanks, This does sound like a really nice vacation spot! Does anyone know how many guests the lodge suites sleep?

Hi,

We used our points 3 years ago in the fall for a 4 night stay in the lodge suites. They are newer units in a separate building a short walk away from the main historic building. They are 1 bedroom units, with a living room, kitchen, balcony, bedroom and very nice bathroom. They're not luxurious, but are nice (not as nice as DVC units IMO). The area is very pretty. We were there off season, and some of the dining areas were closed and there wasn't a lot to do, but we still had a great time. I wished we have gone in the summer when we could swim in the lake and really take advantage of everything. I thought it was a decent use of points, value wise. We drove up to lake placid from there and spent 3 nights there - which I also recommend!

OH - meant to answer your question! The lodge suites sleep four like a dvc 1 bedroom - pull out sofa in the living room and King bed in the bedroom...
