Thanks for the tip, I found offsite parking for half cost - 7.50 a day.

Make sure you check the place out well. There are lots of not so nice offsite parking places neat the Miami port. Check the Cruise Critic message boards in the Florida Departures section for info on POM parking alternatives and reviews.

I'm a conservative soul when it comes to planning. I would consider a previous poster's suggestion to postpone the cruise.

The delay in contract renewal was an an planned surprise and you don't really knew if it will get renewed. The contractor may be having financial problems and is cutting back.

In my case I would be going into survival mode.
