Lagoon vs. Garden

I've never stayed GV only LV, but it was the most wonderful experience ever!

We used to wake up in the morning, open our curtains to see the castle and the Contemporary and GF, and my 2 DDs used to wave at the people on the ferry on their way over to the MK! We also used to let our 2 DDs run onto the beach to play while we got our bags ready for the day.

The evenings were even more special - it gets dark and you can sit on your balcony or patio to see the castle changing colours! Absolute magic!

If you can afford it, go for the lagoon view room. They are wonderful. The only problem is the older longhouses with only first floor patios and 3rd floor balconies. If you are unfortunate enough to get a 2nd floor room in one of these buildings it will come without a balcony. Strongly request either the Tahiti longhouse with balconies or patios on all 3 floors or either the 1st or 3rd floor in the other longhouses. Re-request again at the check-in desk.

Hope this helps.

The lagoon view is worth every penny!!! It's incredible!

There is nothing more romantic and magical than a LV room at the Polynesian. I think it's my very favorite view from any room in all of WDW. :)

Is there a big difference between patio and balcony view in Hawaii? I know 3rd floor is smoking, but would consider if view is better for castle/fireworks. I made the jump to LV concierge so DH and myself could enjoy the fireworks after DS6 &DS8 go to sleep! I am so excited!!! (I know Tahiti has the view too, but I couldn't resist the concierge!!!). We are going in December. Any recommendations?

1505 in Hawaii was a perfect view. Non-smoking and patio. Added bonus--you could walk out onto the beach and sit in the swinging chair right there to read a book in the afternoon sun :)

Thanks ducklite! Reading this thread tonight is what made me change my reservation! We will be watching the fireworks from inside MK the first night, but wanted a relaxing way to enjoy them for the rest of the week! I am keeping this a secret 'till check in!
