Ladies: Who's delivered a big baby?

My sister's first son was premature, 4lbs. His nickname is Peewee.

12 years later she had a son 13 lbs. His nickname is BOOM BOOM.

One of mine was measured @8 1/2 lbs @ 38 weeks & was born 5 days later @ 6lbs 8 oz, another was measured @ 6lbs 7 oz @ 40 weeks 5 days & was born @ 8lbs 11.5 oz 2 days later. Take those measurements with a grain of salt. My last one was 7lbs 14oz born a month early measured for 5 lbs the day before.

9lbs 8 oz, 9lbs 4 oz, 9lbs 6 oz. In that order. All natural - no C sections. All term + a couple of days.

DS was 9 lb 8 oz. I had NO trouble at all -- I felt great the next day, ready to have another!

5 and a half years later, I had DD - 7 lb 15 oz. and it took forever to recover.

I have big babies, all csection. 1st not scheduled, 2nd scheduled, 3rd was scheduled but had emergency csection before scheduled date.

All three of mine were large babies. All boys, all one week early, no induction, vag deliveries.

DS1 was 8lbs 14oz., DS2 was 8lbs 2oz.

DS3 was born 5 months ago at 10lbs 10oz. All along I had been telling my OB that I felt that this was a big baby, but they said I was measuring normally. Not big, not small,, right on target. Labor was not bad, and the delivery was really fast (the nurse caught his head and the doctor ran in to catch the rest, didn't even get to glove up!). The first thing the OB said was "THIS IS A BIG BOY!". We couldn't believe it when he was weighed when he was about 30 minutes old and was 10-10.

Out of the 3, the last was the easiest. No tearing, fast delivery (only about 5 pushes). Short labor.

Walk Walk Walk Walk Walk...that is really the best advice I got. I was 4cm for a week, and was very uncomfortable (now I know why), and just wanted to get it over with. I considered drinking Castor Oil, but decided to try walking first and Thank GOD it worked.

DS was 8 lb 11 ounces and I didn't have an easy time but managed to get through it. A lot depends on how you're built too.

Both of my DSs were 8-8 and my DD was 8-11. It was their length was was different. They had told me they were worried about middle DS because he was measuring short. We named him Curtis because it means short. Boy were we surprised when he was 23 1/2 inches! My first was 21 inches and DD was only 19 inches, but it was the middle one they were worried about! He is my tallest one at 6ft 4, but he is still growing!!

DD2 was 11 lbs 5 oz. (arrived right on due date) natural childbirth
DS was 7 lbs 8 oz. (arrived 3 weeks early) natural childbirth...we call him the runt of the litter!

My son was 10lbs, induced a day after my EDD. I was against the induction but because he was measuring so large and I had GD, my OB insisted. (I'd had a midwife for the pregnancy, but the case was handed to the OB because of the GD.) I'd hoped to deliver naturally, but after breaking my water and seeing it was sludgy and nearly black, we decided on a c section. DS was in the NICU due to meconium aspiration and DH said it was so funny seeing our giant baby next to the tiny preemies. His 'neighbour' was 4lbs.

A friend of mine who is 4'10'' and less than 100 lbs gave birth at home to her ELEVEN POUND CHILD. Can you imagine?? The human body is incredible. And remember, fat squishes. The only things that really matter are head and shoulder size. Good luck OP!!

Oh please 8 10 is NOTHING!!!!

My two kids: first one 9 lbs 12 oz., second one 9 lb 13 oz- 32 inches long.

For both of them they had to reweigh them-- because of the size. My second one they had to remeasure her with a longer measuring device.

I'm not a huge woman either, so there were always doctors looking at the HUGE babies!

Wouldn't you know it-- my first is turning 17 next week.. he is about 6 foot 3 and weighs 130 (if we are lucky). My second just turned 14, and she is about 5 foot 6 and average weight.

As a retired OB nurse, I have seen all sizes. There have been tiny ones who got stuck and huge ones that flew out. The largest I saw was 14-8 born from below. Her SIL had twins who weighed 8-15 and 8-10 (also from below)!

I am only 4'9" tall and had 4 kids. They were 5 lbs 2 oz, 4 lbs 11 oz, 5 lbs 10 oz and then the last 9 lbs 9 oz. I was so big that I couldn't drive a car after 4 months and had to pick up my tummy from 5 months on so that I could walk. I couldn't walk unless I did that. When I sat down I just used my tummy as my table because I could use the table. My Dr. said that it was like a normal sized woman having a 16 lb baby. I had a C-section with him as there is no way I could deliver normally. I tried but my labour just stoped and didn't start up again and I was 2 weeks overdue.

All natural, no pain meds or interventions. The first was the most difficult, that hasn't really changed in the 12 years since.

my 3 were between 7.5 and 8.5 lbs or so but toward the end of my 3rd pregnancy the doc told me that based on belly measurement she was 9 to 15 pounds or something absurd like that.
anyway good luck! i loved that part of my life (pregnancy/baby)

Yup...big babies.... DS1 born on due date 9 lbs 1 oz, DS2 born 1 week early 8 lbs 10 oz, DD3 9 lbs 10.5 oz (day before due), DS4 smallest just over 8 lbs He was so small I wasn't sure what to do with him!! LOL.

My first 3 were all totally natural, the last one was induced a week early and OUCH that makes those contractions really hurt more! I had some demerol with him to take the edge off . I had one doctor in my group that was overly paranoid due to my advanced age (lol...i was 1month shy of 40) and my weight.

I do also have to add that my longest labor was 7 1/2 hours for the first one. So big babies don't have to be bad. It really depends on your pelvis bones!

i had DS in June. during my pregnancy, i participated in a fetal growth study and had regular ultrasounds. these scans were done with the best equipment going. they measured his leg/arm bones, spine, head, stomach, feet THREE times each (during each ultrasound--i had several). they took those measurements and came up with their estimates. all of my measurements were big at the end. they estimated he'd be 9 1/2 pounds at birth. and keep in mind, that i'd had several ultrasounds, all pointing to this.

he weighed 7 pounds, 11 ounces.
