LADIES: what bra do you wear??

Hey ladies...I've wanted to start a thread asking about what bras to wear. I'm curious if anyone has the perfect one that's supportive, comfortable, no under wire and handles the sweat factor. Any recommendations? I should mention I'm a DD so it really needs to be supportive. I don't mind a good sport bra, but I also don't want to feel like I'm in a vice all day or like I'm trying to smash them flat. TIA!

I absolutely love Hanes Bandini's. DH and I go to music festivals a lot and a girl at Bonnaroo 6 yrs ago told me about them after I was complaining about my bra and I tracked them down after we got home and I've been hooked ever since! They are my go-to bra for amusement park/festival type situations. Basically one of those really hot days when you are on your feet and moving a lot.

You used to be able to get them at Walmart but I haven't been able to find them there in at least a year. And they've been on clearance on the Hanes website recently so I'm a little worried they might be on there way out so I stocked up.

Anita extreme control sports bra. Supportive, but shapes does not flatten, comfy, breathable. I wear D also. I've worn this model for over 5years.

I wear my normal bra.

I wear a D cup, so I want something that is going to hold me. And I can't see paying over $50 for a sports bra, that I wear to Disney.

You could wear a moisture-wicking sports bra if you're worried about sweat. You'll have monoboob, but might be worth it. Make sure you measure yourself before spending money. Large cup bras are expensive. (I wear a 38H). 80 percent of women are wearing the wrong size bra, which can make it uncomfortable. Clerks in shops like Victoria's Secret are not taught the proper way to measure. (This is a soapbox of mine. Sorry.)

Not sure about linking videos, but if you search YouTube for Bra Fitting 101, you will find the best video I've ever found that explains to you how to measure and what part of your bra measurement is wrong by symptoms (gap cups, back riding up, etc.)

I wear sports bras for many things- walking hiking, biking etc. Brought one with me a few years ago and they are ideal for Disney.

I agree. Sports bra is my go-to comfort bra because it offers support without the underwire. If I'm going out or something, I'll change into one of my better bras, but knocking around the house? Sports bra.

I wear my sports bras. As someone who is very girl-shaped, I especially like Target's high-impact sports bras. They are affordable, durable, and washable - which makes them perfect for a quick rinse in the sink at the end of the day so I can wear them more than once during my week at the park.

Thanks for all these tips, ladies. I have some sports bras but part of my problem is I'm on a 3 yr journey since the birth of my son to get mostly back to my pre-pregnancy size. My boobs, sadly, will probably still be a little bigger but until I'm completely done losing the weight, I don't want to invest in bras that may not fit right long term. I like the target idea so I'll probably check there. When I'm sweating and in theme parks running around, I really don't like the idea of wearing my day to day bras. Especially those with underwire!

Don't spend a ton of money on a bra that doesn't fit. You'll spend all day adjusting. What a pain.

Either do it yourself or go to a reputable place. As @Corbie said, NOT just a shop clerk.

I don't mind spending money on a bra. I just can't see spending $70 on a sports bra. Ouch.

I have never had the luxury of wearing a bra w/o underwire, so I'm laugh/crying at the comments. Maybe someday and some surgery later I will relate!

This bra appeals to me, but the straps look close to the neck. i feel like they would show on a lot of my tops. Do you have any problems with that?

Warners bra, no underwire but has support. I wear it working out. Sports bras have become too constricting for me

I know you said no underwire, however I personally prefer them. Lane Bryant has a cooling bar that is fantastic.. I notices a big difference between them and a regular one.

I go to Steinmart and Target to find cotton stretch no-wire sports style bras. I am a D+ cup and have found several that weren't too tight and are comfortable without breaking the bank.

To OP, I was just over at Amazon, and they had Syrokan bras on sale for $20. They come in larger band and cup sizes. They looked pretty supportive. They have cheaper ones, but I don't trust bras that are sized S, M, L and XL.

You can move the straps a bunch of different ways which is great! Did you see the pictures at the bottom of the link of the different ways you can wear it?


But even in normal position I don't really have a problem with that. If anything the top of the bra will stick out if you have a real low cut shirt. But layering is in right now and I have a bunch of the funky color ones so if it does stick out a little, it's completely fine. It doesn't really look like a bra if it peeks out, more like a tank.

I just looked through our vacation pictures and found a day where I was wearing a tank with it under and it was showing. But you can see it doesn't look like a typical bra. All of my other pics you can't see it.

36DDDD and I wear 2 Hanes Get Cozy bras - about $8 at Walmart each. I wear a large first and then an XL over that
