Ladies that use curves... Question

Hi,

i am going to post this on the community board too incase it gets more traffic!!

I walked into curves today and my first thought was those women look funny bouncing all around on those pads.

I won't work out at home unless I am alone. Did you feel silly bouncing around on the pads in between the machines?
How do you get over that?

Not at all. Everyone is doing it, and I am the type who doesn't usually give a rat's patootie about what other people think. BTW, when I started Curves I was at 328 - I'm down to 217 - and I still got up and did it. It's fun! You can jog, dance, bounce - whatever as long as you keep moving. :bounce:
 
I thought I would feel silly, and I did at first. BUT after watching everyone else you realize that none of them care. I started out basically walking in place, I now get very creative and do some moves that i see other people doing.
 
I love Curves. You will see people who jog on the pads, others who just lift their feet a little, others who seem to do dance, everyone doing their own thing. What I really like about Curves is that everyone there is trying to work out and I have never seen anyone ridicule or make fun of anyone else. Our Curves has all sizes, shapes and ages and everyone just does there thing. No judgments. You'll find after you have been a few times that you'll do what works for you and won't thing about looking silly. Besides, you'll feel great and there's nothing silly about feeling great. Give it a try. Let us know what you think.
 

I go to "It Figures" and it's the same idea as "Curves" and we don't feel the least bit silly! Most of the time, as you get to know each other, we exercise and talk!! I sing and that really helps to improve stamina!!
 
I was the same way at first. I am very shy,modest and reserved and I thought I would not be able to do it. All I usually is walk in place but if it is not real crowded I will do a little kick/swing move to go along with some of the jazzier bits of music. Sometimes I face to wall when it is real busy. Believe me if I can do it you can too!!
 
Not only am I a member, but I also work there part time......

It doesn't matter what you do on the recovery boards, as long as you're moving - we have people who jog, jump up and down, do kicks, walk, do kickbacks, do knee lifts, do the twist (depending on the music)....any thing goes!!!
 
I don't feel silly on the recovery stations. I sometimes find myself looking all around so I don't just stare at people. Lots of Chatty Cathies go to Curves. You find out all kinds of gossip. I feel I get a good workout in half the time, and it is very close to my home. I wasn't sure I would like it but 2-3 weeks later I am still going!:smooth:

I loved it... I can't wait to go tomorrow.

I got a free one week and then I will join after that. No excuses this time. The women were soooo nice and I felt comfretable.

I did feel silly the first time or two on the recovery mats, but after that I was fine. All I did was walk in place, but I am sure that as I get more confident I will do more but at least if I walk!!!

Yippy!!! Eat well today too! :)
 
Good for you!!!! Glad to see you found your motivation. Have you gone to try on dress yet?
 
I joined Curves in the middle of November. My friend and I went together because I was very shy about going in there by myself. We have been going three times a week since and love it. I have never done anything like this in my life.

I do not feel silly on the recovery boards. Everyone does there own thing. Just do what is comfortable for you and you will be fine.

I hope you give it a try. We were able to go free for a week before signing up.
