A group of lady friends get together regularly to have a potluck and each time there is a theme. The next theme is an evening pj party with breakfast being the food for the potluck. I am not a big breakfast person so I am looking for ideas on what to make that is portable and will feed 10-12 people. Any thoughts and/or recipes would be appreciated.

What about a couple of 9X13 inch pans of French Toast that you bake? You could have it all assembled but pop it in to bake once you arrive at the pj party? Or perhaps some breakfast casserole with eggs, cheese and bacon? Another treat (what we have for Xmas morning breakfast) is Monkey Bread. It's SOOOO good. It's like a giant cinnamon bun.

How about cinnamon buns or bagels and cream cheese? Your girls party sounds fun!

Yeah, I'm surprised Pop Daddy hasn't shown up asking if he can crash the party. :teeth:

Mimosa's or Bloody Mary's. Monkey Bread you take Hungry Jack pillsbury biscuits cut into 4th's shake in a bag with melted butter then one with Cinn & Sugar put it to a Bunit pan. Does anyone know the measurements? I will email sister to the recipe is is yummy. I heard Rachel Ray did it with donut holes.

I don't have any ideas, but I am sooooooooooo jealous!!!! This sounds like so much fun! Do you all chow up in your PJs or change when you get there? I want to call all my friends & tell them to throw on their PJs, make me some food & come on over! :lmao: I wonder what they'd say?

Edited to add: I must really be hungry because it is supposed to say "show up" not "chow up!" :lmao:

Here is my favorite breakfast recipe:

Sausage Bread

1 lb. loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
1 lb. bulk sausage (sage-flavored)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
½ c. chopped fresh mushrooms
1 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 c. grated mozzarella cheese
1 beaten egg

Let bread thaw and rise according to package directions. In medium size skillet brown sausage, onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms; drain the liquid. Roll bread dough flat on floured surface with floured rolling pin. Place on slightly greased cookie sheet. Spread half the sausage mixture down center of the dough. Sprinkle half the cheeses over mixture, repeat. Fold dough over and tuck in ends. Brown with beaten egg. Bake at
375 until brown, about 20 minutes.

It is delicious!

Sounds like a really fun party, enjoy! :goodvibes

What about a couple of quiches? super easy, inexpensive, and just about everybody likes quiche! you can put anything in a quiche that you put in an omlet. Cook it the night before, store in the fridge, and just reheat it in the oven when you get there :thumbsup2

A fruit tray might be nice to set off some of the heavier egg dishes.

Potatoes O'Brien -this is not a 'diet' recipe

1 2-lb pkg frozen cubed hashed browns, thawed
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 cup finely chopped green onion
1 pint sour cream
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 cups crushed corn flakes
1/4 cup melted butter

In a large bowl, combine thawed hashed browns, salt, pepper, green onion, sour cream, cream of chicken soup and cheddar cheese. Pour into a 9- by 13-inch baking dish.
Mix corn flakes with melted butter and sprinkle over the potato mixture.

Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour at 350° F( I check them at 45 minutes but usually cook them for the whole hour)

Makes approximately 12 servings

I've made this and its rather yummy!

Ham and tater casserole
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb. frozen tater tots
1/2 lb. diced ham
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1-1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
6 eggs
1/2 cup milk
salt and pepper to taste
PREPARATION:
In 4-5 quart crockpot, layer ingredients in order: one third of the tater tots, ham, onions, green peppers, and cheese. Repeat layers two more times, ending with cheese.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs and milk and beat with whisk or egg beater until combined.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Pour mixture over layers in crockpot. Cover crockpot and cook on low for 10-12 hours. 6-8 servings
