Okay, so I am so low maintenance it's ridiculous.

I've purchased various types of make-up in the past few years: Mary Kay, Clinique, Walmart/Cover Girl type brands, etc.

I was curious if anyone here has ever tried/used the Bare Escentuals make-up... I've heard such neat things about it in various places, so figured I'd ask here too.

I don't know what my hang-up with make-up is. The time it takes, the fact I never really feel like I know how to do it properly (I'm such a tomboy), and something about it just sort of makes me feel "fake." Plus, I have pretty oily skin so by midday it seems like it's all worn/whined off. Not sure why. Now that I'm getting older (and my face is showing it), I feel like I need to give it another try...

Thanks for any input/advice you gals might have. :)

I didn't care for Bare Escentuals. It made my face feel extra dry, even when using a moisturizer underneath. Now I just stick with a Clinique bronzer.

Thanks. Sorry for discussing an "already discussed" topic! :o

I've been using it for about 4 months now and I really like it. I too have very oily skin and some redness. Some days I only use the mineral veil and the warmth.
I know there are a few threads on here about it...try a search!

No, I didn't mean it that way at all. :bitelip: It was a good thread with a lot of good info, just thought it might help you. :sunny:

I haven't tried BE yet but I'll check it out soon. Right now I use a Clinique face powder and I love it!

Oh, believe me, we love talking about our Bare Minerals. I'm sure you'll get many responses (I don't really have the time right now though). In the meantime, do a search and you'll pull up a plethora of information. It's talked about a lot here. :thumbsup2

I've been using BE since October and I love it. I never liked liquid/powder makeup and always found it didn't look natural so I just didn't wear any. Now I use my BE everyday. The stuff is amazing. It's really easy to apply. I'd get a starter kit and that will come with a DVD showing you how to use it. I'll never go back to regular makeup again.

I use prescriptives, & I really love it. I also started using a really good skin care line from my doctor. It is Obagi, & it is wonderful! My skin has never looked better. I also have pretty oily skin.

As a Mary Kay consultant of 7 years it soundS as if you need to find someone who will take the time to go over your needs and determine your skintype and what you want your makeup to do for you. I wish i could get to you and help you in person.....please feel free to PM me ask me anything....after 7 years in the business I feel I could offer you some quidance!!!!

Hi! I love bare minerals and will never use anything else! The thing I love most about it is that the make up is so natural looking. It never settles into any lines or wrinkles! There is also a beautiful deweyness to my skin thanks to the Bare Escentuals clear radiance I use. In fact, my Mom and three of my friends are now using Bare Escentuals because they were so impressed with it! Try it out, I think you will love it! :goodvibes

I like the BE, but it takes too much time. It looks nice and light though if you don't like that "made-up" look.

I like it and use it, but find my old standby foundation much faster.

Totally agree! I've been using BE for about the same amount of time and I love it. I never get that "oil slick" feeling that used to hit around mid-afternoon. It's easy to apply, takes a couple of minutes and has actually improved the condition of my skin. I can't imagine using anything else.

I just got the starter kit of BE. I'm not all that impressed, but I'll keep trying it. I have dry skin so it looks very dry after the BE is on. Another problem I'm having is getting it to cover red areas. Any BE experts have any advice??

I use Summer Bisque as a concealer. It does a much better job than the foundation for covering flaws and redness. I just got it a couple weeks ago and I love it. I use the concealer brush with the bisque and then use the Kabuki brush to apply my foundation.
