Hi, I'm having trouble finding sweatpants that fit. I'm 4 ft 10. A while ago I bought some sweats from Hanes.com that were flat on the abdomen, so nice fitting, but they had flare legs, and of course were too long. They were nice and warm and fuzzy, but looked ridiculous rolled up. So, then I bought other sweatpants from Hanes.com that had an elastic cuff at the bottom, so, they were tight on the ankles and were not too long, but the abdomen area had pockets and were pleated, so they make me look dumpy :-(.

I do have some workout type sweat suits, but they are lightweight, so I can only wear them in the summer. I need heavy, thick sweats for winter, because I'm always cold. I have plenty of bulky hoodies. I just need some warm fuzzy pants for around the house that won't look ridiculous if I step out to get a loaf of bread.

I tried some yoga pants today at Modell's and they first, were too long, and second, were a little too form fitting around the booty. They also were thin, so not warm and fuzzy.

My daughter has some Abercrombie and Hollister sweats, and I tried them but they are too form fitting, or just don't fit right. I guess they are built for teen bodies, not 40 year old ones, lol.

Help! What do you ladies buy, and where?

I like old navy yoga pants. I'm 5'4 and they fit just right. You could have the dry cleaner hem them if they're too long

My dd is 4'11", 140 lbs, & wears a 14 plus in girls. My mom is 5'0" 138 lbs and wears a 10 petite, but fits in dd's 12/14 plus perfectly waist & length, better than most petite dept brands. DD has longer legs than my mom. My mom is waiting on dd to get taller so she can get all her hand-me-downs without glitter or butterflies on the butt, lol. JC Penney, Gap, & Sears all carry girls plus- I'd try that since the length may work for you.

I get the mens hanes sweats because they have elastic on the bottom...helps when you have short legs.

Try Athleta, they offer petite sizes & their stuff is really cute :goodvibes

Target has workout pants in different fits (fitted, loose, etc.) and in different lengths. They shrink. I am 5'3" and wear the regular average length and it was perfect after I washed them. The short length might work for you!

I'm 5'1 and I end up having to have everything shortened at a seamstress.

Old Navy did have some goucho pants last season that were the perfect length maybe they'll have them again this year.

Old Navy yoga pants also come in petite. Which I find too short at 5' 1", but they fit my sister who is 4' 11"

Dd14 is 5'3", 120 pounds, and wears VS sweatsuits size small petite (and they're a little short, now that they've been worn a lot).

My dd wears Aerie but they are long on her, she is 5ft. I do admit that after some shrinking over time the end up fitting her.

I will have to look into some of the options here. She cannot really wear petite but she does need a "short" with pants, jeans, etc.

I'm about 5'2 and 128lbs and I would love to know what girls brand of 12/14 will fit me :confused3 They are usually way cheaper than women's but that seems really tiny to me.

If you are buying fleece sweats (like sweatshirt material) you can just cut the hem to the length you need and they will be fine (no freying). I do this with alot of the VS Pink sweats as they are usually about a foot too long :rotfl2:

Just jumping in to add WOW another person who's 4'10!! :scared1: I lost an inch last year and I'm that height now!

I found some great ones at JcPenneys. They make a petite sweatpant and they are fuzzy and warm and great. They actually ride up a little when I get out of the car so they should fit. Of course I spilled bleach on them the day after I bought them!

Update:

I went to the Gap on the way home and got some sweats there. They are not as fuzzy as I would like, but they are loose fitting, flat in the front, and they even say you can cut them according to your preference. In other words, they KNOW they made them too long, lol. I tried the yoga pants again and I just can't do it, :rotfl:. For yoga or working out yes, but not for lounging, and definitely not for going out! :scared1:

Anyway, I will wash them and see if they shrink before I cut them. That's all I need, is to cut them too short by accident :rotfl:

You gotta buy the plus size, which is bigger in the waist, bootie, & thighs but same length in the legs. Gap, JC Penney, Sears, Lands End, all carry plus. The 14 plus is about an identical match to the 10 petite.

DD is only 4'8" and NOTHING works for her. :sad2: Even when we have a seamstress hem her pants, because soooo much needs to be cut off, the pants end up looking horrible because the fullness near the ankle area now ends up around her calves. :sad2: Ugg-ley! We end up having most of her clothes made due to this. Expensive!
