I was originally planning on bringing 2 dresses..1 for semi and the other for fomal night..now I'm rethinking...I have a cute dressy sleeveless "little black dress"...am thinking I just may wear it both nights...saves me bringing 2...what do you think ladies...would you wear the same dress twice or is this a "no-no"?? Thanks!

If you change your jewelry you should be fine. My motto is wear whatever makes you feel happy and comfortable and beautiful!

I'm not a lady, but I would add a comment-

You'll be changing restaurants, but not diners or servers. The same people will be around you on both nights. As long as that don't bother you, I don't see any problem.

I did it similar- I wore the same jacket/ pants both nights, with a different shirt & tie.

As long as you're happy and don't care if you're wearing the same thing in any pictures, that's all that matters! As far as the question - would I do that - No, I probably wouldn't! But I can drive to the Port so packing really isn't a problem for me. I certainly wouldn't look down on someone who did if by chance I noticed it! And I don't think I'd notice that unless someone was wearing something particularly gaudy - like Cher or something!;)

i usually wear the same dress for both the semi formal and the formal night dining.

add a lovely wrap one night and voila!

a dress like that is so classic anyway that with a bit of accessory change it should be fine. I'm bringing a similar one that I plan to wear for semi-formal night and if we are not in Lumiere's that night will probably also wear one of the nights we are.

I'm bringing a gown for formal night. But that is me.

Just got back on Saturday and wore the same black crepe pantsuit both nights. I simply changed out the shell underneath and added flashy and elegant antique jewelry to dress it up. My husband wore the same black suit but with a different shirt and tie. We actually ate in Palo on Thursday night, Captain's Gala so we were not with our dining companions on both formal and semi-formal night. However, we ran into two of our mates in Palo and they did the very same thing. Actually, we were a bit more dressed up that many we saw. For example, while many men did wear tuxedos, we saw just as many not even wearing a suit. They simply wore a jacket and pants. I thought my husband looked absolutely wonderful in his very stylish black suit. It was dressy and very appropriate!

wear the same black dress and accessorize differently. One night, perhaps a wrap or scarf, the second night pearls or other jewelry...We only dressed for dinner, then changed before the evening entertainment so we were all more comfortable....

Not everyone on the cruise will be dressing to the nines, so...

Wear what is comfortable, I wore the same long dress both nights, changed the hairstyle (all up for formal, partial up for semi) and my necklace.

The women in my family (except for teens and my sister) wore the same outfit. The teens wore a long dress for formal, and short dress for semi, same as my sister.

The men in my family wore the same suits, changed shirts and ties.

Also we recommend bring items that do not wrinkle (or show wrinkles), even with packing in the dry cleaner bags, some of our group did a little touch up ironing.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Sandy

I purchased a "jacket" and skirt and two separate shells - one will be for formal night and one will be for semi formal.

I bought 2 new dresses for the cruise... 1 for formal night and 1 for semi-formal. But when I started packing my suitcase I thought, "Something has GOT to GO!!!" So the formal dress got left behind. I wore the same "little black dress" both nights and did not feel funny about it at all. :)

One year- I bought a formal long black skirt and 2 different tops so that it looked different and it saved on packing. I have since lost weight and can't wear the black skirt anymore so now I am going back to 2 different dresses because we always buy family portraits- at home we never find the time to get together, dress up, and go have one made- so it is a tradition that we buy them when we cruise. Regardess of your decision, you will find many different dress styles for formal/semi formal dinners- from dressy dress to casual. Last cruise- we had a family setting behind us that wore SHORTS & T's on formal- It didnt' ruin my night or anything silly like that but it was hard not to wonder what in the world the people were thinking!!
