I'm stumped as to what to do here. I lost some weight and now all my pants and shorts are too big and baggy. All my clothes were a size 14 which was fine with me. A medical condition caused a weight loss and I went to not quite a 10 but the 12's I borrowed are just big enough that they are too baggy for my taste.

Most of what I have is a mix of Lees and Levis. Lees have always fit me really well and held up nicely for me and when you aren't sure the weight is going to be stable it's nice to not pay $50 for jeans. Anyone know of a less expensive (as in Target/Walmart/Penneys) brand that seems to run a little larger or smaller than most? A larger cut 10 or smaller cut 12 would probably be ok.

I'd like to introduce you to my best friend, Gloria Vanderbilt. She is at Kohls a lot, but other places too. She can be on sale often for about $20 per pair.

Most of all, she doesn't care if I ate a little too much over the holidays, she is always okay with a size 10. She has let me wear a size 10 even when other pants have said "nay nay, you must wear a 12 now."

She must be a dancer, she stretches a lot.

She is also okay when a few pounds drop off.

She understands that my legs are little, but my waist is not. Other pants tell me "if you want that size gut, fine, but you must wear fat pants then." "And surely if you have that size waist, you must be 6 feet tall."

I love her, she understands me.

I have the hardest time fitting into jeans. My thighs don't match my waste (thighs larger, small waste). So jeans never fit my waste unless they are skin tight! :sad2: I bought some St. John's Bay jeans from JCPenney. They fit pretty good. When on sale you can get them for like $18 - $20. Good luck and remember, most of us feel your pain!

LOL my sister says she loves Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. She gave me a pair but I didn't care for those because the waist is so big on me. I'm an hourglass and my sister (was at the time) an apple. That however, is very likely just that style of jeans and there might be others I'd like. I just never went looking. I may have to do that today.

Just bumping to see if the evening folks have any ideas :)

I find most discount retailers jeans to run smaller then most 'name' brand jeans.

I am a solid 10 and I wear mostly Calvin Kleins. I usually buy mine at Costco for around 20.00. Hope that helps.

Another vote for Costco! You can get some nice jeans there for right around $20.

I would get anything with stretch in it, that way they'll still be comfortable when your weight goes up and down.

I'm always so hesitant to buy clothes at Costco because if they don't fit it's a pain in the butt to exchange them especially if they've sold out of your size. I could get 2, try them on at home and return the one that doesn't fit :scratchin

I will tell you I really love Calvin Kleins as well. :thumbsup2 But I will tell you jeans that are fabulous for "in between" are the FADED GLORY's from Wal-Mart. (I believe K-Mart carries them as well). They are very reasonably priced something like $15.99 and they come in stretch as well as all cotton. They also have regular cut leg and boot cut leg. They have them in demin/dark denim/black/tan and in the winter months they come in cords. :goodvibes

Try them, esp the stretch. You will NOT be disappointed. :yay:

If you ask, sometimes they'll let you try them on in the bathroom. Costco has an easy return policy, so I'd probably go with buying 2 sizes and bringing the ones you don't want back!

I'm with you on the Faded Glory brand. I have some stretchy ones on right now, in fact! At first I asn't sure I was going to like the stretch factor in them, I wasn't used to it. But now I really love it!

I just had to update. I went to Kohls and got a couple pairs in a different style than my sister gave me. Can I just say :worship:

Right now I'm perfectly between two sizes, too, and I found some Tint jeans at J.C. Penney that I adore. They are the Chelsea fit, have a little stretch, and they cost $44, but go on sale all the time for $24.99.

Great jeans.
