Hey, I've recently lost some weight, and I found that my halter tops can now fit.

Although some have those little bras in them, I could use just a bit more.

Where can I find a decent strapless bra (BTW I am "slightly" blessed)

I have my old one but its a full length strapless (to go under a gown). I may have to go with the full lenght one if I cant find any others

Where can I find a good one without costing an arm and a leg?

I know they have those at VS, but I have a hard time paying $40 for a bra.

Well, I was going to say VS because that's where I got mine. :p

Maybe Kohl's or another department store in the Mall. :)

I'll have to try that.

The mall is near the library.

I saw "stick-on" ones on HSN a few weeks ago.

I'd prefer not to go into detail about them here, but try looking on hsn.com to see what I mean.

If I were very blessed, I think I'd give them a try.

I've seen them. I'm wondering if a store has them because we leave on a trip soon.--no time for orders.

I will have to try the mall. I can try Strawbridges, or Boscov's (thats whats in this mall)

Cindy, I usually go to a department store. I admit my favorite for "slightly blessed" women is by Lilyette... I have a couple of those in a few different colors. Best fit I found around for me. Good luck.

Now here's a stupid question. Since I only have a gown strapless, are the others that well LONG?

It fit under the halter, but it was almost as long as the halter. Do others have decent support without the length.

I put urgent because I am packing for our trip, and I have no bras to wear! (I'm sure DH wouldn't mind, but it might scare others!)

Cindy, they aren't... they would be just about the same size as a "normal" bra, just w/o straps.

I admit they look big, but they don't go down any lower on the abdomen than a regular bra. And the 2 or 3 Lilyette brands I've owned have been perfect support even through dancing at weddings!

And I 2nd onecoolmama, I think that's where I've found mine.

If you just go and look you will see that they are not long at all.

I saw 6 of them, and they come in various styles and colors and they are less than 40.

Here's a great little-known VS secret. Most of the stores, especially the bigger ones, have bra boxes near the fitting rooms. They are sorted by size and include the top ten or fifteen selling bras in the store, including five or six strapless. Just cruise right into VS, ask for the bra box in your size, head straight to the fitting room and try all of them on. You'll know in 10 minutes if it's worthwhile to spend the big bucks for the strapless - in my opinion, it usually is, there's nothing quite so bad as an uncomfortable bra, plus those things usually last for years.

Once you get out, hand the one you like to the sales girl, ask her to go get it for you, and you'll meet her at the register. That way you get more time to look at the thongs with boa feathers, lace-up corsets, etc ...

Remember, if your kid's feet are worth $80 in soccer cleats, your ****s are probably worth $40 in halters! ;)

Just a little piece of advice, before you head off on a trip with just stuff that requires a strapless, make sure you find it comfortable enough to wear all day. I personally HATE wearing an uncomfortable bra! I'm a good bit more "blessed" in that area than I would like be, so that may contribute to my pickiness. I only wear a strapless when absolutely necessary, such as a wedding, because I can't stand them. Of course, that also means I don't own halters or spaghetti straps. I just can't stand pulling and tugging all the time to keep them up. Again, that me just be because of my size, but I would check it out first.

I wear tons of halters/strapless shirts, and I'm telling you, those $40 Victorias Secret strapless bras will be around LONG after the cheaper ones have shot their elastic and gouged you with their underwire. I've had four of them for five years now.

Also, beware the cheaper longline bras. Lots of them stop right in the middle of your waist and make a VERY unattractive fat roll (at least on me) whereas VS makes a LONG longline as part of their bridal collection. I paid $78 for it, and it comes all the way down to my hip bones, so it cinches my waist. If you look at my webpage, I had that one on with my wedding dress, and it also gave GREAT support without being uncomfortable.

Ok, I found one.

I tried on Lillyette, Wonderbra, Maidenform, Olga, 2 at Fredericks, none at VS (didn't have my size!), and about four other brands.

Found one at a department store which coincidentally had a sale.

I am a little blessed as well...I have found that for all of my tank that have the shelf bra--I prefer a little more support thanks, that the strapless from VS work best. I think mine was also $40, but I wear it with so many tanks it is unbelievable! It is definitely worth the money. Also, I buy my strapless a little big because if I buy them in the correct size they tend to fit a little funny and leave odd lines across my chest. If you are wearing them with tighter tops anyway, it will hold everything in place AND give you a great shape!

I think I tried on about 30 bras today.. Who knew how exhausting that it would be?
