we stayed at the CBR last trip and the space by the sinks/vanity came in handy. DH convinced me to try another moderate this trip (even though I loved CBR) so we are staying at POFQ and I'm wondering where we are going to put all our toiletries, etc. with their little pedestal sinks.

We are going from this....

We are traveling with 2 little kids and have lots of STUFF that needs a home near the bathrooms. Any suggestions on where to put that vanity stuff???

That is a shelf right below the mirrors and above the sinks. I found it to have ample room for my and my teenage daughter's supplies. You could always try one of those cheap shoe hanger bags though that others have mentioned.

The shelf above the sinks are bigger than they look in the picture. Trust me I am the toiletrie queen and I had pleanty of room for all my stuff. You will LOVE the resort! I hope you guys have a great time!

Go to your local dollar store and buy a shoe bag, you can put your hairspray, shampoo etc. into the pockets. Keeps the counter space so neat.

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

I got the shoe bag at the dollar store and hung it on one of the skirt hangars right next to the sinks. I had no problem having enough space, but it was only me and hubby on that trip. I had to keep blowdryers, flat irons, etc on the shelf above the hangars (they wouldn't fit over the sinks). I don't think you will have a problem. Anther hint is to bring a small plastic baket or bin to put misc beauty items in. I also used the glasses for makeup brushes eyeliner, lipstick, etc. and another one for toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.

We've always had enough room on the shelf at POFQ. Another suggestion is to purchase the hanging toiletry bag available from Lands' End and LL Bean. Lands' End might have quit making them -- I got them for my DD and me several years ago. I bought one for my mom from LL Bean for Christmas. They work perfectly and are very sturdy. My DD's is personalized and she keeps her stuff separate from mine -- no fighting over whose is whose. These are more expensive than the Dollar Store things, but they seem indestructible and have been well worth the money.

LOL - thanks for posting this question NJDisneymom! As silly as it sounds I am worried about the lack of counter space too - our previous trips were at CBR and Dolphin, they both had lots of counter space - I was really hesitant about booking POFQ because of the sink area/counter space but after reading all the great reviews we decided to try it.

Also thanks everyone to posting the great ideas about how to store stuff - I may have to go get a shoe bag now. HOwever I do have the LL Bean large travel bathroom bag that has plenty of pockets - that may work too. :flower:

also - directly to the left is the closet - with a big shelf...you can store extra stuff there.

I too am a toilietry queen...I do like other hotel set ups with the shelft underneath the sinks (makes me glad I didn't get pedestal sinks in my own home.) But with the shelf over the sink and the shelf in the closet I had plenty of room for all my "stuff" and DH's deoderant and toothbrush. (I wish I could travel that light. heheheh)

We (2 young adults & mom) used the shelf on the right over the bar to hang clothes (in addition to the little shelf below the mirrors). We went to CBR the year before and then POFQ most recently, but the less space wasn't a problem for us. We use a lot of those make-up bags to hold stuff and just place them on the shelves.

I have a large toiletry bag, and it does fall off the shelf. But I unpack all my stuff from it anyways, and leave the bag on the closet area shelf in case I need it - works fine. If all my stuff fits, a family of four will be fine!

thanks everyone for the reassurance that it will be ok, LOL!!! I think I will pick up one of those shoe organizers just in case.

For our CBR stay ds was still taking bottles and it was nice to set up the bottle drying rack right on the vanity. We're only bringing a few sippy cups this time so we should be able to manage with just the 2 shelves.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one with this question. :)
