Labor Day weekend?

Hi all

We've got the last four nights of our vacation booked at Hard Rock Hotel to visit Diagon Alley and the rest of universal Orlando.

We chose the end of our holiday as we thought the further away we were from the opening day of the new section, and the further away we were from the majority of US school summer vacations the better. But I've now realised that it is Labor Day weekend whilst we are at Hard Rock - so its likely to be packed!

Our original plan was to have a fairly relaxed changeover day on the Thursday when moving from WDW to universal (having pool time and a nice lunch somewhere) and then having 3 early entry days to Universal on fri/sat/sun (we are planning to just chill by the pool on Monday before our flight home)

My question is - Now that we know its a public holiday weekend, should we instead plan get up at 6am on Thursday, get to Hard Rock for 7am check in, to be ready at the park gates for early admission? (The thinking behind it being that Thursday might possibly be quieter than the fri/sat/sun?)

Or do you think the whole place will be manic for weeks anyway, in which case getting there early on the Thursday won't make much difference?
