For you DL Vets or just if you've been there over the past few years.... how Busy does DL get during Labor day weekend??? What kind of wait times should be expect. And does it usually calm down the week following labor day weekend???? Is Tuesday through friday Lower crowds, Normal size crowds. Thanks so much for the help!

Busy is relative. Yes, Labor Day weekend is busy...but not crazy busy like Christmas/New Years. The half marathon and the 5k are that weekend. This alters park hours a bit and there were a lot of people in marathon shirts wandering around.

I can't help with wait times. I use ridemax and take advantage of single rider and FP, so I really didn't wait in many lines when I was there over Labor Day. Crowds dropped way down on Tuesday. At DL, only Indy and Splash offered FP (they just weren't needed elsewhere).

For what it's worth, it's my favorite time to go. I like straddling the weekend to take advantage of the full entertainment schedule and to hit the attractions that are going down for holiday overlays...and then I stick around after the crowds head out and enjoy a couple of quiet days in the park. I've done it the last two years, and I'm headed back this September!

I wasn't there for Labor Day last year, but we were there the Tuesday following all throughout the week and weekend. I would say the crowds were low during the week and by Friday afternoon and the weekend it got busier, but it was entirely manageable. The only line that I remember waiting in for more than 15-20 minutes (most were a lot less) the entire time was for TSMM at DCA.

One thing to keep in mind is that HM closes it's doors after Labor Day weekend for the holiday overlay, which was the biggest downside to our trip - but in the scheme of things not so bad.

The 5K is on Saturday and I believe it is based in Disneyland.

On Sunday, the Half marathon starts at 6am. It goes through DCA, then Disneyland, and then onto the streets of Anaheim. it heads to the Honda Center and Angels Stadium, back through DCA and finishes in front of the Disneyland Hotel.

Depending on if you are driving or staying close, it may effect you getting to the parks. I did not feel that the park was overly crowded after the Half Marathon. Just lots of people wearing their medals and taking pictures.

Here is a picture from about 2pm on Sunday to show you what Main Street was like at that time.

Labor Day itself was very much NOT crowded and Tuesday after was just plain empty.

Have a great trip.

The parks were not crowded IMO that weekend. We've gone twice that weekend and it wasn't nearly as bad as expected. The Expo was the following week last year and, although they haven't announced if there will be an Expo this year, it didn't seem to impact crowds at all. I know that we spent 99% of our time at the Expo and wished we'd spent more, so don't even know if we'd go to the park at all next time.
One thing to be aware of...The 1/2 marathon TOTALLY CLOGS the roadways..we were stuck in a taxi for 45 minutes trying to find a way to get into the Grand Californian and being told conflicting things by police and CM at every turn. There was flat out no way to get to the Grand that morning. We finally were dropped off way back to the entrance to the DLH..and the end of the race..and had to drag all the kids/car seats/backpakck/luggage through DTD avoiding the thousands of runners, etc. I would avoid arriving on that morning if you staying at the Grand.
