As I was checking out the weather forecasts for the Labor Day weekend, it shows that it will be in the high 70's. Which is considerably cooler than the normal averages. Not being from California, how accurate are the weather forecasts?
Temperature forecasts more than a few days out need to be taken with a grain of salt. But that said, California generally has had a VERY mild summer this year (if you ignore the next 3 days )

Thanks MomToOne! I did read that weather alert online for the next few days! Sounds like a hot one! I hope that the forecasts does stay cooler when we are there for the first week of September!!!
Personally, I think summer has caught up to us, I think we are looking a hot few weeks here. We are south and looking at mid-90's all week (same as last week...) So who knows what will happen....
My 1st trip to DL was Labor Day weekend 2006...California was having a FREAK heat-wave...it was over 95 degrees with over 90% humidity...somehow I survived...I went again Labor Day weekend 2008 and the weather was GREAT...mostly 80's in the day and 70's at night...I'll be there the 1st week in October, hoping for good weather then....
So Cal never has "freak" heat waves... just normal ones!
I wouldn't really trust a weather report for Labor Day yet. It is HOT right now and supposed to get cooler for a few days, but after that, who knows. Usually it gets pretty hot though.
Right now highs appear to be 85 for that weekend. Just remember that it will be sunny and very very crowded, so even a little heat can get uncomfortable very quickly.
Alsooo... today's high was 92. The average for today is 85. And the record high is 98. For Labor Day, average is 85 but record high is 108. So if it continues in the same pattern as this week... looks like it will be hot.
The heat wave is expected to break here in the Northern part of the state in just a few days. We are at 106 right now , but are expected to have a high of only 77 by Saturday, and down to 74 on Sunday! After the weekend we go back to mid to high 80s (which is still pretty cool for this part of the state at this time of the year).
By the looks of things, So Cal is forecasted to follow the same sort of trend right now, maybe a day or so behind...
