Labor Day Week Crowds?

I'm planning a short trip from 9/5-9/8. Last year when we went in October the crowd calendars did not predict very well, as it was WAY more crowded than predicted. Do you think Labor Day week will be as calm crowd-wise as the calendars are predicting?

We will be there that week and the next. Lowest crowds of the year.

We went that week last year and we're booked for 9/2-9/10 this year. It was our favorite trip, and it mainly was because of the light crowds. We loved it. It was hot, but we'll gladly take the heat for the lighter crowds. The parks were a little busy during the actual holiday weekend but as soon as Labor Day was over, the crowds disappeared and we really noticed it at Stormalong Bay - it was practically empty in the afternoons!

It should be fine. BTW, which calendar wasn't predicting October to be busy last year? It's been busy for years.

I hope so. This will be our first trip at that time of the year. We are going 8/30 to 9/10. We were just there in Feb/Mar when the crowds were supposed to be low and then...Mardi Gras....Looking for better luck this time.

We went that week a couple of years ago and it was much more crowded than we were expecting. I think everyone has caught on - there were many comments on these boards from people who found all of September that year to be much more crowded than normal.

Still... it won't be as bad as peak times!

We were there during the Mardi Gras madness this spring also. We always try for low crowd times but it just never seems to work out for us - we joke that we're cursed... lol.

We will be there for Labor Day weekend. I have looked at wait times over past Labor Days and the crowds seemed to be much smaller at that time. Our thinking is that since most all schools will return session on the 5th families will not be running off to WDW for a vacation. Most of the guests will be locals ( those within a few hours drive), this is us. Only three hours away. Also, those without little one will make a presence. Of course there will be the home schoolers and those on a year round school schedule who will make an impact. All in all though, I feel that crowd levels will be much lower than a normal summer weekend. Hoping so anyway.

We will be there the week after Labor Day and yep, we don't have kids. :thumbsup2 We normally vacation or Disney in Sept due to all the kids being in school. We LOVE the low crowds and while it is more crowded than it used to be I think it's the lowest crowd time in Disney now...or one of the lowest times anyway.
