Labor Day or Week Before Xmas?

Well I thought I had it all planned out.. was going to do CSR the week of Labor Day and take advantage of Free Dining. Having second thoughts because of:
1. HEAT (DS's first trip - age 2)
2. Taking my DD out of school for the week (will be in 3rd grade). I'm thinking I don't want have to go thru getting approval from the teacher+ counselor+principal+supt of education.. what an ordeal
3. Tom Joyner family reunion (does anybody know what # of people this brings in?)

So my latest idea is to go either DD Fall Break (Nov 6-10) or as soon as she gets out school for Xmas (Dec 15).. can anyone offer any comments on crowds during those 2 weeks? I just today started reading up on the Xmas party.. see that tickets are already on sale? Do the weekday Parties (on the week before christmas) sell out quickly? are they crowded miserably?

I would go the week before Christmas. I think your kids will enjoy all of the Christmas decorations and it will give you the opportunity to go to Mickey's Very Merry christmas party. And When you come back from your trip your kids will enjoy having winter break right away. If you go let's say the 16-23, your kids will have all of winter break to make up any work so school won't be a problem. Going over labor day is not worth it because the kids have to go right back to school (our family hates that). So do the good thing and go the week before Christmas!!! Trust me, it won't be that crowded if you leave by the 23RD.

I would go Christmas week. I live in FL and September can be pretty miserable in terms of weather and it's the height of tropical storm season. I'm going last weeknd of September for food and wine and wouldn't be if my work schedule gave me any other choice. I'm also going first week and December and I know that will be great. Not to mention if you go then you can see all the holiday decorations and got to MVMCP and maybe take the yuletide tour.
