hi will will be at SSR 8/28/10 - 9/11/10 and have been adv this will be during Labor Day celebrations - to be honest i dont know much about Labor day and im wondering what i can expect - will there be any different activies taking place? We dont tend to do the park more around DTD area for eating etc. will everywhere be really busy? when exactly will it be?

IMHO, Labor Day is a banker's holiday. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labor_Day for more info on what it is.

I don't recall Disney ever putting on any event in honor of Labor Day. I have no clue what they could do.

With fairly low crowds (kids are all back to school) the end of August & start of September is a great time to visit WDW... unless you melt in the heat or rain ;)

Labor Day weekend itself will be busier than the days that follow, but no where near as bad as Earlier in the summer or any other holiday. I love this time of year. Have fun!

I agree with what previous poster said; we've been at WDW over/on many Labor Day weekends & Labor Day itself and do not recall anything special in the way of events, etc.

:)

thanks for your rep;ies thats great!!! good to hear the place wont be crazy busy.

Labor day is a great time to visit WDW as the crowds are low. Sunday & Monday are pretty popular, but on Tuesday the crowds are gone and the rest of the week is awesome.

The only downside is that it is still very hot in Orlando during labor day. We've seen temps in the mid-90's during that week!

We were just there over Labor Day, Sept. 6-11(S-Th) at the THV at SSR. It was WONDERFUL. Very low crowds, we didn't wait for any attraction. On the other side of the coin, it was very, very HOT. Hope you enjoy! :goodvibes

thanks for your replies - im looking forward to it already:banana: had some hot weather over the last few years:dance3:

Hi. Since my dd started high school last year, she asked that I please don't take her out of school any longer for vacations :confused3:rotfl:
So, last year and 2010, I will did the same as you.
My kids go back to school the Wednesday after Labor day so we get to the parks the last week of August and stay until Sunday before Labor Day.
I follow Tour Guide Mike and this past year, we had empty parks and have pictures of the castle without anyone in them, although I do follow the touring plans for TGM too, so that definately helps.

We booked again for next end of August although I won't be staying as long as you are.

It is a great time to go. Enjoy and see you at SSR!

The crowds die off quickly after labor day, but there may be some attractions down for refurbishment.
