Anyone stayed here recently? My brother is looking for our family to group here next year when we go. He likes this chain elsewhere in the states but my search didn't yield too much recent info on it. They don't have room layouts on their website, so I'm also looking for some info on that. We have various family sizes in our traveling group! Thanks!

there are 2 close to WDW -there are several in the area one is kissimmee - older, cheaper but also closer -

the newest and biggest is called Laquinta Inn and Suites Orlando Maingate - so I think this one has everything.

their websites says it contains suites

I like them too - any place that allows pets I am all for - and their breakfast was pretty good.

the one at Lakeside did not have a FREE breakfast.

We have stayed at the Lakeside one several times for about $59 a night and were always pleased. While it won't WOW! you, it has always been clean and well maintained. The rooms are large and have a fridge/micro combo. Great room for the price in our opinion and also very close to the park via the little side road that takes you straight to AK!

We stayed at the one on Polynesian Blvd last April, it is quite new. We were very pleased with it, nice pool, clean, good continental breakfast. Walls are a bit thin, but it wasn't noisy. It has an exercise room and guest laundry. Close to WDW. Would stay there again with no hesitation.

We use Lakeside if we are looking for a good budget hotel. Staying there this Fri eve before we cruise for 1 night, booked thru hotelmartusa.com for $42 including tax. $3.50 resort fee on top. Rooms sleep upto 5 people if I remember rightly.
Have booked for 3 weeks there next Oct.
Don't expect luxury but well worth $42

When we stayed there last April we got it for $34. on Priceline. A great price for this place.

Did the $34 included tax and fees?
I have never been a fan of priceline and similar. prices I have seen when all fees taken into account seem more than booking elsewhere.

We stayed at the LaQuinta Lakeside last October for $18/nt. on Priceline and LOVED it. As others have said, it's not a luxury hotel but was just perfect for our family. The kids loved trying out the different pools and the free miniature golf. I've heard that the $3.50/nt. resort fee now includes a free continental breakfast which makes it an even better deal. I would recommend this place without hesitation.

Wayneg,
Priceline has a flat booking fee of $5.95 per reservation (not per night) and the taxes you pay are based on the amount you bid per night, i.e., $18/nt. x 11.5% tax (hotel tax rate in Orlando) = $2.07 per night in taxes. IMO Priceline beats all the other hotel reservation services hands down.

Thank you for explaining. I misunderstood the fees.

Wayneg:

Sorry, I hit the wrong key. With PL charges and tax it was still under $40. That includes a pretty good continental breakfast. That is less than $60 Canadian, which is a real bargain for us. We booked all of our rooms with PL for our last vacation and never got a poor room. Our budget was $50 and we came it at $47. That was pretty good since we had to pay higher rates in Clearwater Beach to be on the beach, but we knew that. Our rooms were $32.-$70(only 3 nights at this rate). We are planning on doing PL again this year, but with not so many hotel changes. Could have saved PL charge on two occasions. Stayed in 5 places, could have done in 3. Will do three this year. You learn a bit more each time you go.

We are staying there this upcoming week. We booked it thru Hotwire for $28 / night. Total including fees for 8 nights was $248.00....

can you tell me what amenities and star rating you found on Hotwire for this? we need a place for 1 night

thanks
