Thinking about seeing this show finally but have to convince sister. Would you reccommend it? Think I would really like it, but she is the hard sell. Doesn't want to "waste her disney time" seeing a show" ever since hoop de do she doesn't trust me. :confused3 (she really didn't like that).

We have never seen any of the circqe shows, only the previews on the tv.

Thanks, Mky

Let's see, I think we've seen 7 shows so far. From Vegas to La Nouba, to travelling. We are definitely fans. There is no way to describe, trully amazing shows. IF you can ever catch a show on PBS, will give her a "good" idea of what it's all about. But in person, it is spectacular. My husband and I have gotten the rest of our family hooked :flower: , and they'll be going to see La Nouba for the first time in 20 days.
I wish I could share details, but amazing and spectacular are the best I can come up with! :cloud9:
And although, we enjoy Hoop for it's "fun" La Nouba is a magical experience!
Good luck!
Amy

I took my unwilling DH to La Nouba in 2002 when we went for our belated honeymoon. He thought it was going to be like the circus, and he said it wouldn't be interesting. Then I made the mistake of telling him that there were acrobats and tumbling and trampolines, etc. I was a competitive gymnast for many years, and I have dragged DH to meets many times, which he HATES! lol

Anyway, we went to La Nouba, and he ended up LOVING it!!!! He still talks about it, and says it was a highlight of the trip- in fact, we are going to see one of their traveling shows in June. It really is an amazing show, and sort of nice to have a relaxing night out.

Oh, my, It was wonderful. I went a few months ago, and was completely blown away by it. Amazing stunts...It is something you will remember for a lifetime, believe me.

Excellent! :earsboy:

Hope you see it, you wont regret it!

I would recommend going. It's really interesting to watch and the show isn't terribly long (if your sister's worried about wasting time).

The music is fun and the stunts are really something. I think the only part that bored me a little was the chair guy.

I really enjoyed the chinese yo yo girls.

It was fun, make her go! Plus, how many days are you going to be there? I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to fit everything you want in.

I totally agree. Please don't expect TOO much. How Jenrose put it is correct. Think of words like "interesting", "fun", "enjoy", don't think of it as "out of this world awesome, unbelievable". I don't know WHAT I expected, but I guess "magic" or something beyond capabilities. We were terribly dissappointed, but I think only because of expecting too much, because of all the commentes like "unbelievable" , "indescribable" etc.

All that said, I think you really should see it. I don't think it's wasting Disney time, it's another fun thing you can do at Disney. Just make sure you don't expect too much and then I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and like it.

Thanks for the info. She has agreed! So I got the tix before she changed her mind. Hope the seats are ok. For the AP discount you have to get 2nd level. The seats where section 206, BB seats 18 & 19. He said this was on the aisle? Not sure if I believe him. We took the 6pm show over the "late" one. Also choose a day of the week over the weekend, thought that might be a more "vacation" crowd or less crowded? OR is this always sold out?

Thanks, mky princess:

I have seen it three times, the shows in Vegas three times also. Wonderful experience. You'll enjoy.

Here is a link to the theater http://www.omniticket.net/cds/images/CirqueFloorPlan.gif

They are aisle seats. I prefer the upper tier at all Cirque shows, as much of the action is high up in the ceiling areas. First level has to bend back and look up, you pretty much have it in front of you more. Also, some of the show goes on in the aisle separating the two, you look down on it (or just forward at your level), the lower has to turn around to see. Also, get there 30 minutes before show time, it actually starts with funny stuff about 25 minutes early.

Enjoy.

PS: Try to make the next Chicago DIS meet when we have one. Check every so often on the Community and Meet boards.

We did the Cirque show in March! :Pinkbounc I got 3rd level seats because we had a lot already planned! We loved it! The seats were great also! It is a small theater, so I don't imagine any seats were bad! We also did the 6pm show! We had tea at the Gf beforehand and that was very nice! We would definetaly do it again! :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the info! I feel much better about the seats. :flower: That AP discount was pretty good! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Dan, thanks for the invite! ;) I saw a couple of dis meets listed for chicago But noticed them too late. They look interesting, and fun. I will keep that in mind. I have been a dis member for a long time, but I fly under the radar, (not noticed) mostly on the resorts board. ;) Heck; its embarrassing being here this long and not even tagged. :confused3

We have not seen La Nouba in person, but we did rent it this past weekend from Netfix. DH was totally amazed by it. I know that now he will want to go see it live next time we make a trip to WDW. You might try renting one of them and see how she likes it.

La Nouba is not to be missed. Neither you nor your friend will regret going to see the show. It was the highlight of our trip last October.
